Mr Slicksloper and our transportation

The terrain of this cache is simple if you walk it, extremely rough if you drive it. It is a road all the way in but places do get very rocky.
This cache is near a mine off Hwy 141. It is in a blue plastic jug with a white lid. Make sure you do not tighten the lid too tight so the next person will be able to open it. The road is a rough one so you may want to park in the circular parking area and walk in. Coordinates of the parking area are: N 38º 51.066’, W 108º 32.167’. The distance from the parking area to the mine is 1.4 miles. Several forks in the road so follow your GPS. When you see the cab of an old pickup sitting on the left of the road then you are almost there.
Do not know the name of the mine. The mine is locked off and seems very safe. The green stones are laying all over the ground in front of the mine and in the dry stream bed.

First part of road was a bugger but then was good. Not sure if you are still supposed to drive in because of lots of signs saying private property but it looked as if they were to either side of road and that the road was legal... hope so cause we was there... left Old Bill Travel bug.

Thoroughly enjoyed the solitude and beauty of the area... the cache is in good shape and pretty easy to spot, but hidden. TFTC! TN- Left Pop-a-Top TB

I was with a friend, we enjoyed the walk and the scenery. He spotted the cache, this was his second find (no username yet, but hopefully he will have one soon!) It snowed most of the time and did get quite stormy as we were leaving we still had a blast. TFTF!

This cache near The Amethyst Queen Mine was found on a sunny afternoon with "Cruisin" who actually located the cache. The amethyst mine shaft is now gated and posted "NO TRESPASSING." We took nothing, left nothing. A nifty cache in a great location.

Found this cache right on... Hiked in with a friend ( The Road King ) on a wonderful Day, Sunny and around 50 degrees, the Hike from the side Hwy 141. A couple other hikers were nearby rock hounding. Logged visit. TNLN. Thanks, -=Crusin=-

The wife and kids gave me a day to myself for fathers day so I packed up the dogs and heade for the hills! I've been looking at doing the this cache for a couple of years now so the nearby multi was a bonus for me. I had planned on hiking further up past the mine, but some JERK (keeping it famiy friendly) left a smouldering fire in the upper fire ring (near the narby multi) and I had to use my drinking water to put it out as it was getting gusty, and my cardinal hiking rule is to head back when the water is half gone! So I headed over this cache, looked at some of the pretty rocks, then heade back. BTW, I disagree with the 1.4 mile thing. As I walked by this cache on the way to final stage of the muli my GPSr trip odometer read 2.5 miles. Dropped a US flag, took nada. Thanks for the awsome hike, and the cache too!

Found this one today while out caching with Tink, my son, his wife and my two grandsons. Good thing we had the cache buggy. Roughest part is definately the first 1/4 mile. After that, the youngest was out like a light. It had been a long day by the time we got to this one! TFTC, SL :0)
