CONGRATULATIONS TO Honeybuzzed and Barasaur for the co-FTF!!!

This is a two stage multi-cache.  Proceed to the posted coordinates to get information necessary to locate the container.

In September 2013, torrential rains buffeted the Front Range from Fort Collins to Evergreen causing unprecedented flooding.  The Big Thompson River overflowed its banks, flooding this entire river bottom area.  Every bridge across the Big Thompson in Loveland was closed, some for several weeks.  This cache, though not placed at the time, would have survived that flood.

Go to the posted coordinates and there you will see a sign.  It will be quite obvious.  From this sign you will need to glean the information necessary to locate the cache.  The sign has two distinct sections, left and right.  On each of these sections there are several lines of text.  You must find the correct letters and convert them to numbers: A=1, B=2, etc.  To find the letters I will give you the section, row (starting at the top), and position from the left.  For example, L/20/32 is the left section, 20th row down, 32nd letter from the left.  So if that letter is z, then L/20/32 = 26.  It is important that you only count letters, not numbers, symbols, or punctuation. Then perform the given calculations.

From the posted coordinates you must project a bearing and distance.

Bearing = WXYZ mils

W = R/9/23 + R/5/10

X = L/7/1 + L/6/3 - R/16/2

Y = R/6/42 – L/2/8

Z = R/9/6 + R/8/14 - R/14/6

Distance = ABC meters

A = L/3/1 + R/1/20

B = R/4/4 - R/13/41

C = R/17/17 - L/4/4 + R/11/11

Sad face redeemed! Was heading north to teach a firearm safety course, and stopped by to grab this one.

Climbed up, and didn't see anything. Went back down, and scouted again. Went back up and higher, got a smiley! First to sign new log. Thanks for awesome multi and replacing cache.

Gets a FAVE

Thanks icezebra11! Logged Above the Flood from a seventh galaxy using c:geo!
