Ski through the Bear Cave to find this cache!

As soon as you exit Bear Cave, ski roughly ten feet then stop.  You will need to remove your skis and walk roughly 4-6

feet into the trees on you left.  Look for a black 35mm film canister attached to a branch about 3.5 feet above ground level (snow).

This was quite an interesting spot. I walked through the cave just to check it out. After searching in the deep snow and super cold for 5 minutes or so, I had to give up. It's there, I'm sure. I just didn't have the energy to dig in the 2 feet of snow (maybe more) with that kind of cold. Thanks for the adventure.

Nice DT combo to start the day - found it after a brief search. Had to get a little navigation help from a ski lift operator to find the general location. All is well!

I flew up to Denver to drive my son's car back from Boulder to Dallas while he spends a semester abroad in Europe. He has such a difficult life! After picking up the car I headed up the mountains for a day of skiing before making the drive. I ended up meeting up with some old friends at Beaver Creek and had a great day skiing Friday. After finishing our day of skiing I made a slight change of plans and decided to drive through the mountains to Pueblo instead of driving back to Denver and then I25 - it probably added some time to my drive - but, also gave me an opportunity to grab a few unplanned CO counties. I got up early Saturday morning and made the drive from Pueblo, CO to Elk City, OK. grabbing caches along the way over 14 hours. On Sunday, I got up once again before the sun made a cool hike up to the top of King mountain then finished the drive back home. I love these car return trips - I think this is #3 between CO and Dallas. It gives me a great opportunity to run my county cache count up and enjoy some great exploration.

Happy New Year’s! We are visiting from Wisconsin and though we would try to grab one to say goodbye to 2018. The cache is in good shape. I was a bit worried that this wouldn’t work out because the Rose Bowl was closed, but it turns out that the cave ended up at Latigo. Whew! The mountain was almost empty today, and I wasn’t sure if that was because of the “cold” or because everyone was at work or partying. I was also on the last chair up on Centennial before it closed today!

A great location! I’ve come to Beaver Creek many times and never seen this! I wouldn’t think for it to be a 3.5 difficultly, though. TFTC
(P.S. I didn’t have a pen, so attached is proof that I found it.)
