This is a Doc Holliday themed geocache. It is a short drive on a dirt road north of Glenwood Springs. Keep in mind that the road is maintained year-round however sometimes you might need a four-wheel drive. You will find a parking lot just short of Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. Doc Holliday came to Glenwood Springs to cure his tuberculosis but ultimately he succumbed to the disease (there is a grave site on the east side of Glenwood but they are not quite sure where his body is buried within the valley). From this cache's overlook, you will have an awesome view of No Name, Colorado. You'll also have to make sure to visit the Adventure Park but you have to take the gondola up because you cannot access it from this area due to their rules. Make sure to take some photos and hashtag #geocaching on your Instagram and or Facebook account. Congratulations to Lynnsdestiny1 and HD4 for the co first to find.

In town on business and thought I’d spend the evening grabbing a few caches. I looked at the area of the tram thinking there might be a hike up there. I guess I could have hiked the road but given the threatening skies driving was a better choice.

I arrived at the area of the cache. As I peered down the hill thinking “Ugh is it really down there? I’m so wearing the wrong shoes.” Looking at the vegetation in the area and where my GPS was pointing I thought there was a likely spot for the cache to be. Just as I was girding my loins to dive over the edge, the skies open. “Great.” I slipped and slid my way down the muddy embankment. My sneakers will never be the same. Between what was falling out of the sky and the already wet vegetation I was soaked by the time I reached where I thought the cache would be. Fortunately that’s exactly where the cache was.

Nice hone on the container. Signed the log while trying to protect from the rain. I was remarkably successful. I dropped a TB that just wants to travel.

Guess I’ll go have dinner somewhere and hope the rain stops so I can get a few more caches.
