TWO finders; In its first YEAR.... and then nuthin.
Well sad to say, but I'm throwing in the towel at last. The series has been a long and fantastic adventure; five hikes to the four stages( Groovin' got a second look just to be sure, even with the spoiler log photo) were each a memorable treat. Four more just to come pour over the live concert venue; but I've spent all the hours up here that I'm going to. None of the four caches/stages I did find previous were very far from posted, or extremely concealed-- So I'm betting this wasn't either. Just ....?

We started this series last year on July 3rd with Surfin Raisin. I love a challenge, but hadn't seen this much deadfall on any previous hike. The burn area was an eye opener for me. I forgot about the Raisin series until Ernie mentioned doing Groovin Raisin. Gee, I didn't realize how much I missed hiking over deadfall! I guess this is what hunters do. Not sure why we had to do Beach Goin Raisins that same day, but we did. It would have been nice to see more sand and less thorns. Meanwhile, we lost the clues we picked up a year ago in Surfin Raisin and decided to bypass Flyin Raisin and go for the final. That didn't work out at all. We were forced to do Flyin Raisin. I want you guys to know that those Elk are out there in abundance. So today we decided to get it over with. The weather was threatening, but not as bad as previous Raisin hikes, and Ernie was able to locate the hiding spot. We celebrated by sitting down to enjoy the view while eating a box of Sunmaid Raisins and listening to "I heard it through the grapevine." Thanks for a very challenging, but fun (in retrospect) series. Left a coin.

After nearly a year since the first find in the series, Estes01 and I reached the conclusion today.
We were there - WE WERE THERE! - to see the Rockn Raisins Live On Stage!
Each step was an experience to remember and the final location was spectacular. Elk signs were everywhere. I heard it through the grapevine that even they carve their initials into aspen bark - and we found an elk hoof on the way to the cache this morning. As with all the others in the series, snow started falling on the way down. I guess in high hunting season, this area is hopping with people, but today, there was absolutely nobody else out there. Not Marvin Gaye, not Ray Charles, not Michael Jackson. Or even Elvis or JFK for that matter.
I traded out the jeeps and left my signature in the log. Thanks for a memorable experience!

Wow!
All great hides, hikes and containers.
This was one fun series to hunt down. ( More up then down )
The band was playing my favorite song as I signed the log FTF.
I left two Jeep TB's for those who follow.
Thanks for the cache and whole alot of exercise!
