Cache is a sandwich-size lock n lock container
Lower trailhead access is by Bridgeport Lane off US Highway 50. From the trailhead it is a 5 mile roundtrip by hiking or horseback on a well-maintained trail. Access is also possible from the Dominguez Campground on Cactus Park. Bighorn sheep were re-introduced to the canyon in the early 1980s and are frequently seen in the canyon. On the day the cache was placed we saw a golden eagle sitting in a tree, numerous ducks and geese on the river, lots of small birds in the bushes and canyon walls, a few lizards, and several ravens frolicking against the clear blue sky. Oh--and 15 bighorn sheep. Not a human in sight except for myself and Mossy Mary my hiking buddy. What a great day to be out in the wilds.

No bighorn today. Too many rocks for clue to be helpful but coordinates were spot on. Thanks.

Out here from NC to enjoy a few days of hiking and caching before a conference in Denver. I've called areas "target rich " before, but man, this was really target rich. Once I read the hint, though, I narrowed my search and spotted it. Retrieving it took some time and effort, but it was eventually in hand. Beautiful spot! No sheep, though. :-( TFTC

This one was a bit too treacherous for us! The canyon walls mess with one's GPS, making the search area fairly large…..and those boulders you're climbing over are not all stable….not even the large ones. We'll leave this one for the more adventurous (or younger?). As the husband says "my 'cereal bowl' days are over".
