Welcome to Colorado Springs, also known as

Olympic City USA!

Since 1978, Colorado Springs has been home to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committees. Over 20 National Governing Bodies of Sport are headquartered here, including USA Cycling, USA Swimming, and USA Volleyball. The Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs was built on the site of the former Ent Air Force Base (the home of NORAD from 1957-1963, before it was moved to Cheyenne Mountain). Approximately 15,000 athletes representing Team USA choose to train here annually, as many believe the high altitude improves their training and performance.

This virtual will take to you the Carol Grotnes Belk Sculpture Garden, outside the

U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center's Visitor Center.

GZ is accessed via the Boulder Street (south) gate.

As of publication, gate hours are 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Saturday.

Gate access & public parking are free.

Information regarding gate access can be found here: https://www.teamusa.com/visit

In order to claim this virtual, you must send me a message with the answers to the following. DO NOT POST ANSWERS IN YOUR LOG or it will be deleted! Logs without answers sent within 24 hrs will also be deleted.

1. Standing in the sculpture garden, what is your elevation?

2. Four Olympians are holding up a large globe. Near the Grecian Olympian's right foot is an icon with an archer. How many arrows are in his quiver?

3. Add the number of stars on Australia plus the number of stars on Mexico (there's at least one star on each of these countries). What is this number?

4. On the north side of Kristi Yamaguchi's skate are 4 lines of text. What is the second word of the 4th line?

5. To the east of the large globe are four modern Olympians celebrating. Take a photo of yourself (no face required) or a personal item joining the celebration. Photo is REQUIRED and must be attached to your "Found It" log.

I haven't been to this place in decades, and it's changed a lot. All these sculptures are new to me and very impressive. Thanks for creating this cache so I could experience it!

Having worked at this site for many years, I was very proud when I saw this new virtual pop up. :-) And I am even more excited to see how well the cache owner put it together! I have sent in my answers and am pleased to log it as a find! Thanks to Kerewin 0430 for creating this outstanding virtual, which I am sure will result in some more people taking the Olympic Training Center tour ;-) For all of the reasons above, I am pleased to award a favorite point to it!!

Enjoyed the sculptures. I am out on this beautiful leap day tracking down some size and type caches that I need to fill in my calendars for leap day. This one worked nicely! Tftc!

I've never found a virtual on Leap Day before so I wanted to check it off today. It's a cool spot and I'm sure I'll be back when some of my family visits later this year.

I'm starting to get excited about the summer Olympic in Paris this year. I can't wait to cheer for my favorite sports. This is a great virtual to honor Team USA and all the work that goes into getting to the games. TFTC
