This cache part of a series of caches along the Made in the Shade loop trail in the Royal Gorge trail system. The whole loop is approximately 3.5 miles long. This is a popular mountain biking trail so watch for bikes and if you are mountain biking, be sure to move your bike out of the way of other bikers when looking for this cache. Click HERE for a map of the Royal Gorge trail system. The caches on the south side of the loop should be easily accessible most of the year. Snow and ice tend to linger a bit longer in the winter on the north side of the ridge, so caution is advised in the winter months. Please stay off the trail when it is muddy.

Igneous intrusions form when magma cools and solidifies before it reaches the surface. Three common types of intrusion are sills, dykes, and batholiths. The large pinkish intrusion here is a dyke. This cache is a few feet off the trail. Be careful not to disturb the local flora.

Congratulations to LeewayeDiscGolf and nite_raven for the FTF.

FTF! with nite_raven at 12:45pm. I enjoyed this hide and location. There's a cool plate of rock slid into the wall in front of GZ that I thought was neat. Discovered the TBs.
