Doing some late season skiocaching. Came in a few feet below target, popped my skis, and carefully stepped up. Great condition.

Cache is in good shape. I had a difficult time getting to the cache. Sluce Box was really icy. I had slip and slide my way to the cache. I took my skis off to grab the cache. Given the icy conditions I took a spectacular tumble on the way down. Thank you for placing this cache. Found and logged with my HTC One. Thank you for the smiley.

I had a great time hiking and caching the Mary Jane area today, finding 8 of the 10 caches I targeted. I left my home in Loveland on a nice morning in the upper 50s. But I got a rude surprise as I crossed Berthoud Pass, my dashboard showed it was 39°, and there was a dusting of fresh snow above timberline! I parked at the lot next to the Freeriders lift and it had warmed up all the way to 43! I threw on an extra long sleeve T and headed up the mountain. I had a route planned out that minimized elevation loss as best I could. My route was Manchego, Granita, Spumoni, Zabaglione, Knox, Mary Jane Cache, Ricciarelli, Camembert, Mary Jane Micro, and finally Provolone. The two I could not find were the first stage of Spumoni and Provolone. Each cache found was located fairly quickly and I signed the logs. Thanks for the lure to Mary Jane!!
It is June not October

Good cache would never have noticed if i wasn't searching. It was a bit tricky to get to in all the powder.

Missed it on the first go around. I could see it but didn't want to go back up. Came by a second time and logged it. Couldn't tell you how many times I went right by this one before getting into geocaching and never knew it was there.

Tftc, wow, that was tricky, I don't think I would have been able to get it without the previous logs or the powder!

We came in right on target and found this one quickly. The tricky part was getting to the cache. "R" popped her skis off and made her way to the trunk of the tree. While she was there signing the log a couple skiers saw her and asked if she was alright and she assured them that she was fine. TFTC

Nice run, nice cache. Don't overshoot it cuz it's a pretty steep hike back up.

We went skiing today at Mary Jane, and my goal was to get at least three ski caches to get to 1700 total finds. I wanted to tag a relatively tough one for number 1700.
I tried to find "Fondue" on the way to lunch at the Club Car, skiing down Gandy Dancer to get close. I don't much like the bumps on Drunken Frenchman, but today it was Gandy Dancer featuring the gouged out choppy bumps!
Unfortunately, once I got in the trees, the GPSr kept saying 30' N or 30' NW no matter where I went. I gave up and went to lunch. Looking at the satelite view, it was probably close to where I popped out on to Drunken Frenchman.
After lunch, I was going to go for Knox. Then I remembered this one, but I forgot it was in Sluice Box. Sluice Box is not a good place to go after lunch in the Club Car. I eventually found my way to the right tree, approaching from the wrong side of course. Log was signed, and I picked my way back out of there.
Back in the day, when the top of the Iron Horse was the top of Mary Jane, I skiied this fairly often. "The older I get, the better I was..".
Wa-Hoo, number 1700. Favorite just for that.
Thanks for the hide! Took nothing. Left nothing. Signed Log KA&JWest.

It was darned hot up here today! I certainly could have used some granita, but saw no possible nearby sources. They probably sell something like it at the lift restaurants during ski season, when everyone is cold. Where was it today?! I enjoyed finding the cache and signing the log, in spite of the heat attack. Thanks!

One run, 3 caches. Started here, the Rifle and Tito. Great snow today on this short run. No WP bug. Thanks!
