Background: In September 2013 Colorado's Front Range experienced significant flooding, resulting in road closures due to washouts caused by overflowing creeks and streams. Coal Creek was one of the creeks in Boulder County. It washed out County Road leading into Louisville - hence the name of this cache. The road still has not been rebuilt and as a result, geocachers will need to use their navigational skills to figure out how to best access this geocache!
The cache is a camoflaged tin that contains small trinkets for trading. It is also stocked with a Chick Fil A gift card for a free breakfast sandwich for the FTF! Enjoy! Additionally, I have placed a new Travel Bug who is looking to begin his travels around the world. The cache is located trailside and should be a quick and easy one - appropriate for kids! Walk a little bit further to see the massive damage caused by the flood.
