The resurrection of a cache:
At 4:18 p.m. on July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong's voice crackled from the speakers at NASA's Mission Control in Houston. He said simply,  "The Eagle has landed."
With those words, the dream President John F. Kennedy's voiced in 1961--putting humans on the Moon by the end of the decade--had at last come true.

From the launch on July 16 atop a powerful Saturn rocket, Apollo 11 and its crew of three astronauts performed flawlessly. While Michael Collins orbited the Moon in the Command Module, Armstrong piloted the Lunar Lander, named the Eagle, to a safe landing in the Moon's Sea of Tranquility. He and his copilot, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, soon became the first humans to tread on another world. They spent nearly 21 hours on the lunar surface, collecting samples of rock and soil and setting up remote instruments.

Blue Moon, a total lunar eclipse and a supermoon all at the same time! A Blue Moon is when two full moons happen in the same calendar month; lunar eclipses occur when the moon passes into Earth's shadow; and supermoons happen when the moon's perigee — its closest approach to Earth in a single orbit — coincides with a full moon. In this case, the supermoon also happens to be the day of the lunar eclipse, very rare. Last visible event in Colorado such as this one occured 1862.
What more approporate day to remember those words than by placing a geocache on the date of the recent Blue Blood Moon Eclipse, January 31, 2018.

Wasps were active around the pole today. I darted close a couple times until I made the find. I thought of tossing the cache near the base but gathered my courage and replaced as found. Enjoyed the Search - Thanks

After attending The 77s Went Where? event, #1 Beefers and I drove to the Dry Creek Open Space and hiked to many caches in this peaceful area. I do recall being here for a previous eagle cache and I don't think an eagle was in residence the first time either. Thanks for the placement, dustyriver!
