Dogs  Takes more than an hour  Scenic view  Dangerous Animals  No Drinking water nearby  Bicycles  Thorns  Medium hike (1km-10km)

Fourth in my "Art in the Woods" series, this ammo can is filled with Dr. Seuss artwork. Enjoy the art, but please do not take it. Some of the pictures are from a collection called "The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss" -- they're not the typical kids-book images we associate with the artist. A jeep track leads you past this cache, which is east of the radio tower.

No matter which way you approach this cache, plan for a multi-hour hike or mountain bike ride. Bring sturdy shoes, as small cacti abound in the area. In summer, remember to bring water to drink. This is rattlesnake country, so be cautious in warmer months.

You'll be rewarded with nice views, and might see wind turbines rotating in the north, toward Boulder. When you log your find online, tell us which is your favorite Dr. Seuss book, and why. I love reading Oh, The Places You'll Go! to my kids. Whenever I'm standing in a long line, I'm reminded of Seuss' "waiting place."

Enjoyed watching several herds of deer from this cache location. The watering hole is dry at this time of year, but clearly has game trails approaching from multiple directions.

Loneranger found this cache with a view, along with someone's stash of contraband and pipes which were CITO'ed. And with all the recent trail work, restoration and seasonal restrictions now in place on NTM, this hide is now in an area behind a "closed" sign so it might be time to relocate this one before the rangers do.
