Fourth in my "Art in the Woods" series, this ammo can is filled
with Dr. Seuss artwork. Enjoy the art, but please do not take it.
Some of the pictures are from a collection called "
The Secret
Art of Dr. Seuss" -- they're not the typical kids-book images
we associate with the artist. A jeep track leads you past this
cache, which is east of the radio tower.
No matter which way you approach this cache, plan for a
multi-hour hike or mountain bike ride. Bring sturdy shoes, as small
cacti abound in the area. In summer, remember to bring water to
drink. This is rattlesnake country, so be cautious in warmer
months.
You'll be rewarded with nice views, and might see wind turbines
rotating in the north, toward Boulder. When you log your find
online, tell us which is your favorite Dr. Seuss book, and why.
I love reading Oh, The Places You'll Go! to my kids.
Whenever I'm standing in a long line, I'm reminded of Seuss'
"waiting place."
