The cache is off of the North Table Loop Trail on North Table Mountain Open Space Trails.A short and easy hike is off of Hwy 93 across from the car wash. There is plenty of parking. You can also access the trailhead from W.58th Ave and across from Crestone Street. There is a small off street parking area. It'll be about a 2 mile hike from here.
The cache is in a small ammo box. I left a compass and 5in1 Survival whistle for the FTF.

Today after work I opted to take a trail walk and grab a bunch of caches near North Table Mountain. It was just over a 4 mile hike. The weather started with light rain and my journey ended in sunshine. The weather was great. I saw one hawk, several crows (or ravens) and deer footprints. I was a little concerned with Table Mountain's reputation for high rattlesnake concentrations. Thankfully, I didn't see one. But it did cause one scare.
I was reaching toward a cache when I startled a large grasshopper. It's wings made the sound of a bug zapper as it soared away from my head. My head, filled with thoughts of rattlesnakes, froze. My pulse soared, my breath fled, and I screamed as my brain made the connection between the noise and my fear of being bitten. But a few seconds of being frozen like a deer and my brain figured out that the grasshopper scared me. There was no snake.
Because of muggles, I had to pass this one on the way down the trail. I grabbed it on the way back. Well placed. TFTC!

Driving back from a tubing adventure on Boulder Creek with my son. Getting late but a few minutes of good sunlight left in the day, so I decided to make a quick stop to see if there were any caches available from this trail head. Took only a few minutes but was strange to see an ammo box in such an exposed area. A few runners passed by on the trail below, but I doubt they saw or cared what I was up to. Thanks.
