Thanks for the fun cache! I tried to get to this one a few weeks back, but the conditions were just too bad to get there by foot. Mud, thick new willow growth and an overflowing creek just were too insurmountable while dressed in work clothes. Today I decided to try again with it being warmer and dryer. Well, warmer is an understatement. It was downright scorching with full sun and humidity! Oh and bugs! Grrrr... Hate those pesky things! Made it to the GC and with a bit of searching had the container in hand. Stamped and signed the log and replaced as found. Cache is in good shape! Phew! Back to the comfy AC of work! Good workout though now I might be a little stinky! Lol!

The lake was full of muggles but we had no problems...super fun caches! This one had us searching a bit but we finally spotted it!! Gets a fav point from me! Thanks for hiding them for us to find!! IHN!

What a day! I have been looking forward to this for quite a while. I've been working hard and caching has taken a back seat for the last several weeks. I had planned this day off though to geocache with my brother down in Monument. His work schedule afforded him this day off and I've been planning and strategizing on caches for the last several weeks. The weather was beautiful and the caching extremely successful! We found 11 with no DNFs (although we got close a few times) and I filled in two Jasmer squares and FOUR FIZZY squares.

I have wanted to get down here and go after this short series of caches for well over a year. Ever since I heard that a coworker of mine had done it and had the right equipment for the excursion. However, the timing to make a trip wasn't coming together. So, I reached out to my brother. He's not a geocacher, but he has an inflatable canoe!

We got all setup within about 15 minutes of arriving. I haven't canoed in quite a few years so it was fun to get out on the water again. It was windy on the lake so we took more of a zig-zag approach to GZ. My original goal was to head towards #3 first, but we ended up parking almost right in front of #2 instead. And, as it turned out, this was the ideal place to beach anyway.

After getting the first two in the series, we headed over to this one. Having read that others have struggled with this one a little more (naturally given the rating), I did a proactive reachout to understand the hint. Although I should've figured that out myself, I was glad to have the official answer.

The walk to GZ was quite nice and it was fun being in the trees while still next to the water. Once we arrived at GZ the search was on. We were looking for just a couple minutes and I was saying that I know my coworker hadn't found it when I spotted it. Thankfully it wasn't as hard as I had expected!

So glad to get these three found and fill up two more spots on my D/T grid! This gets a favorite for the series and for being such a cool spot across the lake.

Thanks for the hide RPieperCO. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.

First of these three Drew and I found today. These are what brought us here. We did the foot version since I don't have my kayak yet. Beautiful day for it.

We found this one quicker than #1 haha! Sometimes the way it goes. Signed and we were off to #2. Nice hint. Gets a fave! We got a few funny looks walking across a big section of lake :)

Thanks RPieperCO! Logged Monument Lake Kayak #3 from a ninth galaxy using c:geo!

Out geocaching on this pretty Colorado day. We drove up to have breakfast in Monument with my younger brother at the Coffee Cup. We usually meet in Monument because it is half way between our houses. I had spotted this series around Monument Lake and needed at least one of the Difficulty/Terrain placed for the fizzy challenge to work on completing the grid. I brought the dog for entertainment purposes, she is crazy in water. We packed up some hiking boots and a backpack with water and a pen. We traversed around the north side of the lake through the wonderful willows and sloshed through the creek and arrived at GZ. After some time searching GZ I messaged the cache owner for a translation of the clue. I had guessed branch for the B and was searching all available branches, the dog was searching the grass and jumping into the water. In just a few minutes, the cache owner responded with a hint and we had the container in hand. I pull out the pen and attempt to place my alias on the paper. The pen has no ink, are you kidding me! Hmm, I headed to the nearest fisherman and asked if he has a pen I could borrow for a few minutes, no joy. Alrighty then, off we went back through the willows and back across the creek to go back to the truck and get another pen, actually 3 pens, a pencil, and a green marker just in case. Anyway, we spent about 2 hours hiking around the lake and were successful in finding and writing our alias (in green ink) on four geocaching logs today. Are we wet and muddy? Yes. Does the dog stink like pond water? Yes, very much so! Was it worth it? Yes. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find today.

Abruptly yesterday this cache/DNF came to mind. While reviewing the cache page, all of a sudden I realized what the TLA (Three Letter Acronym) must mean. It was necessary to test this theory as soon as possible, of course. Yep. Success! It is very nice to turn a blue face into a smiley. The only down side was the fishermen working that corner of the lake that took SO LONG to move on. Thanks for the cache, RPieperCO.

Searched for a while then duh! Perfect time of year to look for this one with the brown grass all smashed down and not much moisture. Trails are in good shape.
