Should have gone for this one in the summer of 2010 when WingsAndTales and I hiked to the top of Tucker. I still can't believe that we were so tired we couldn't descend a couple of hundred feet to get this one. WingsAndTales went back in March 2011 using the snowcat, but I decided that it might make for an interesting summer hike coming up from Highway 91. ernie66 and I parked at a pull-off on the highway and skirting the private property area were able to follow the pink flags (clearly left by skiers or boarders judging from their height) to the top. Well worth the spectacular 360 views. Thank you.

It's always fun to redeem a 7-year-old DNF. Estes01 and I hiked up from Highway 91, finding marked trails most of the way and wide open forest (though steep) for most of the rest. Once there, with good coordinates, it was an easy find and, unlike some ski-area caches, it was easy to reach in the summer. We contemplated hiking on to other caches neither of us had done, but the weather was moving in, so we saved those for another day. Great cache, thanks!

Bushwhacked up to this one from Hwy 91, avoiding the mine property. It was slick as it was snowing the entire time and had covered the rocks and fallen trees but it was well worth it. The Biscotti was sweet and is in good shape after a year and a half since the last find. TFTH!!!
It was nice when I could find a trail

Still nice as the terrain steepened
And continued nice as the snow deepened

My first attempt at this cache was 2 years ago but I never made it to Tucker since the cat wasn't running. It currently runs Fri, Sat and Sun. I usually ski weekdays to avoid the crowds so I've never been here while the cat was running until today. Estes01 and I hiked to Tucker last summer but we got to Amaretti before we realized that Biscotti was a couple hundred feet lower. We weren't going back that way and just decided not to make the extra effort. We should have just done it but then I would have missed out on a great day of skiing.

I managed to be the last person on the first cat today. It took me about 20 minutes to hike to the entrance to Glade #1. The wind threatened to blow me over a couple times but at least the sun was shining. The powder out there was incredible. The cache is at waist level? Try ankle or shin level. This cache also turned out to be 2300 for me. Any cache I did today would have been great for a milestone. I find it ironic that it was the one cache I really wanted to get today. With this cache I now have at least 2 of every D/T combo. I had to work for this one but it was well worth it. TFTC

Decided to go up the backside of Copper for this and a few others.

Great hike and I was happy to add this one.

Thanks for the cache.

Snow Cat was not running today, either. Not a soul in sight, too bad it wasn't a powder day... :-) TFTC

If you plan on doing this one check the run and snow cat status before you go. Right now the snow cat is only running on Sat & Sun. With spring break coming they may run it more often.

I was at Copper today, but everything above timberline--including Tucker Mountain--was closed due to high winds. I'll try again another time....
