May 25, 2019; 2:26:39 PM MDT; Find# 6809.

One of several caches on a day of significant driving. I left Salt Lake City early in the morning and made my way east toward Laramie and then south toward Colorado Springs. I found Tarryall and Log Cabin, knocking out two of my missing Jasmer months.

This was one of my main targets for this trip. The weather was nice so the walk was pleasant. Ran into a little challenge from the altitude, but the entire experience was great - solitude in nature!

Signed log; thanks for the cache!

This was so exciting. Got to get out and hike and find the cache. Like a previous cacher I expected it to be closer to the cabin. But, my trusty old gps got me there and I did some searching and found it. Don’t expect your phone to get you there. Also found the gnome but will go back for Mtn View. TFTC! Giving it a favorite!

I prepared this one all the way from Germany AS I wanted to log old geocaches. This was my Highlight on my USA trip. We were in the rocky mountains national Park during the day and stopped here in our way back to Boulder. The spot is awesome. Just wilderness. I am still hyped about this oldie. TFTC

We expected the cabin to be at GZ. Found after a fun hike with Roc Buff. Thanks for maintaining this oldie!

On my three-week vacation tour from the east coast to the west coast, I have seen and experienced a lot. I could not visit all caches from the PQ because I did not have the time.
I thank all owners for hiding and care of the cans.
Best regards from Hero99

We had thought that we would hike to Ouzel falls today, but about 10,000 other people had the same idea. Luckily I had loaded this one and a few others into my GPSr so we decided to hunt for these instead. A few cars and 2 horse trailers at the trail head, but not many people in sight. This was a nice set of trails to some fun caches! We haven't really looked for old caches specifically, but this one hit the list and off we went. Spotted the mine building from afar, then headed to the cache. The lichens, mosses, rocks, and wildflowers provided a beautiful palette of color on this perfect Colorado day! The cache and contents are in great condition. Took nothing, left yen, signed log. Thank you Steve for placing this cache and keeping it alive so that we can play!

Today is our last “fun” day of vacation before we start the trek back to Oklahoma. We have logged all of the counties in southwestern Nebraska and a few counties in Wyoming and Colorado. I have wanted to come and log this cache for my Jasmer for awhile but it did not look possible for this trip. Then we had to change a destination in order to find an RV park to stay in for a couple of nights. That change made the trip to sign this log possible.

It is interesting to see who has signed the log prior to us. By chance, Nash-Chloe signed just before us. Nash Chloe lives about 60 miles from us. What are the chances of that?!

We thought the terrain rating on this one should be a bit higher, but what would an Oklahoma flatlander know? I don’t think we took the intended route, but we stayed on the trail until the very end. The walk back to the cachemobile was a little more direct than the walk to the cache.

Thanks to all who have kept this one going!

TFTC! I flew in very early to Denver from OKC to work on my Jasmer Challenge. I have three blanks left and two of them are in Colorado. I picked up my rental car and headed straight to this one. Parked at the trailhead behind several other cars and started the hike. Easy trail to follow but it took longer than I thought it would. Got to GZ and made the easy find. Thanks to all of the cachers who have kept this one going all of these years! I also dropped a TB in this one.

Ammo can caches are my favorite, and this can has been around for a long time. This was a fun hike with great rewards. I liked the old structure and the abundant moose-sign in the area, and of course the views were great! Thanks for placing this cache.
