Last time I was Geocaching in this area it had just snowed. Knowing this was a Dusty hide I decided to grab it another day. This was the day. I had E-mailed anssouth about another hide ( dog songs) and I told him I was going to try this one next trip! He gave me a GREAT hint. I walked right up to it. Cache is in GREAT shape. Thanks for another devious hide! Stamped the log and we're heading for home. [8d][8d] SL TFTC

Filling another calendar day. nite_raven and I, along with our dachshund Ninja, parked at Runyon and walked over. Passed another family near where you cross the active tracks and thought maybe we found other cachers. After watching them pull on everything, I think they were just out looking for railroad items. Once we got to GZ we started our search. Our coords had us about 10 feet away from where we needed to be. After awhile we expanded our search and managed to make the find. Another well done container.
The entire time I was off in the brush searching the dog kept barking at me. After the find and climbing out of the brush, we started towards what's left of the bridge. Right then a bobcat jumped out of the same brush I was in and ran down the slope into the forest, where it sat and watched us for a bit before walking off. No wonder the poor dog didn't want me off in the bushes. And to top it off a train decided to spend the next 15 minutes creeping by on the active line, essentially trapping us on the GZ side until it passed and we could continue back to the lake. We spent the time walking out along the remaining bridge and taking pics.
I'd debated a few times on placing a higher terrain cache on the bridge steel but decided against it. Beyond GZ the nearby graffiti covered sign I think is a No Trespassing sign and the reviewer has turned us down before using the 300 feet away from active tracks rule.
Thanks for the fun one, gave ya a favorite point.
