We made the ridge just fine, but that last bit looked nuts. Could our GPS really be pointing at the correct spot?? Half of Team Gelato made the push to within a few feet of the top, while part II hung about 30' below with GeoDog. A determined effort aside, the cache was not to be found. There is a possible location a few feet higher still, but sometimes a little caution is a good thing and we decided to walk out in one piece while that was still an option. Wish we knew if it was really up there...

Beautiful views. Very difficult and must be a good climber. Did not find it. Found a few places that it could have been. Not much room up there to hide it.

Holy smoke!! What a climb. Can't believe I climbed all the way up there to sign a piece of paper. It is always nice to get a regular size cache. SL TFTC

Team pyre from Bmore, MD was visiting the area for a family wedding and had to jump on the Park county geotrail. After the family festivities we hit the geotrail hard. This park was AWESOME. Just astounding views. We saw this high terrain cache nearby and had to go for it. The trek up wasn't so bad... until a certain point. We attempted to find a path for all of team pyre to head up, but in the end Mompyre and Minipyre had to stay behind. Dadpyre made the difficult trek up the rocks to reach GZ. Finding the cache proved to be a little difficult as well. We were NOT going to DNF this one after all that work. Finally, Dadpyre had the cache in hand. Grabbed some great snaps of the views to share with Mompyre. She did hike up while feeling a bit icky, so she deserved mega love. Thanks for the great adventure and kudos for the hide. TFTC!
