Takes less than an hour  Available during winter  Dangerous Animals  Ticks  Cliff / falling rocks  Thorns

Take CR3 to parking trail head (waypoint). Named it because of it being in a round Christmas tin. This hike follows a dirt trail that leads to the river. It's about 1/4 a mile in. Original contents: Log book, 2004-05 pocket calendar, small flashlite, cross in my pocket, postcard, bookmark, key lanyard, old Hamms Beer can opener, Space Bug travel bug, & feather hat tack. Beware of snakes in summer. River is about another 1/2 mile in. Don't go in during possibilities of high water.

I haven't been out here for a while so I stopped today. The cache is in perfect condition and is waiting patiently to be found. I dropped Oktoberfest Geocoin for someone to move along. I'm going to post a spoiler picture since this one can be very hard to find.

I blame it on the cactus. While keeping an eye out for those hazards, I missed the perfect sightline and then made several circuits before finally spotting the hide. A favorite point for keeping this oldie going.

Wow, this one took us forever to find. We met a couple of hunters close by and realized that we probably should have worn something bright orange also. They were telling us that they were looking for white tail deer. We mostly see mule deer in the Front Range. There are so many potential hiding spots and we were all over the place. Glad that we had water with us. Quite hot in the sun. We were getting all frustrated and about to call it a day, when I spotted it. Finally. Traded TBs here. Tftc.

Went out to check on this cache. The container is right where it should be. I tweaked the coordinates and changed the hint to be a bit more relevant. For whatever reason it seems hard to get good coordinates here. Just use the hint and you will go straight to it. I also added a parking waypoint. Cache on!

Just a short climb up from the coordinates

I gave the whole area a good look over but came up empty handed on this one. Storm clouds and my dog's thirst also hastened the search. There are lots of good hiding places so I may have overlooked it, although it has been a year since it was found. I'll come back when I'm ready to hike the entire trail and try this one again. Hopefully it's still there.

Once we found the trail we hiked on down the dogs each chose an owner and a way across the gate. One jumped one squeezed under. Very sunny today so a little warm on the way down put a great area to look for a cache. Took a few minutes but finally laid eyes on it. Signed log and took the hike back

Fun hike and nice cache. We had fun on the fence ladder and went down and played in the river.
