Third day for us in PPNF, We're not that familiar with this area so we are taking it slow. We passed by this one on our first visit, we didn't have it in our GPSs (we don't use phones). This was an easy find just off the major trail. Tftc.

Colorado Road Trip!
Headed out for a long weekend road trip with a small number of hand picked caches. I headed south to Topeka and then to Colorado Springs, next to Cheyenne and Rapid City before heading home. I camped most of the way when I could find campgrounds. The scenery was incredible and the hikes in the mountains worth the trip. All these caches made the trip worth every minute!

I didn't have to worry too much about muggles today, since the looming storm clouds provided enough warning for those with a modicum of sanity. Nice hiding spot! I wonder if a humming bird nest is nearby, since one was flitting around the shrubbery.

What a day! I have been looking forward to this for quite a while. I've been working hard and caching has taken a back seat for the last several weeks. I had planned this day off though to geocache with my brother down in Monument. His work schedule afforded him this day off and I've been planning and strategizing on caches for the last several weeks. The weather was beautiful and the caching extremely successful! We found 11 with no DNFs (although we got close a few times) and I filled in two Jasmer squares and FOUR FIZZY squares.
This was not on my original list for today, but as I was walking to a puzzle final, I decided to see what was close by. It was perfect timing because I spotted this one about 50 feet away! So we started to search. And we searched. I kept thinking it would be hidden one way (it wasn't) or another (wasn't that either) and I was getting to the point where I didn't want to take too much time on this when I spotted something a little unusual. Sure enough, that was the clue I needed and I made the find.
We got close to DNFing several caches (this being one of them) but we managed to persevere every time thankfully!
Thanks for the hide hikerRon. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.
