Takes more than an hour  No Difficult climbing  Not Recommended at night  Not Wheelchair accessible  No Drinking water nearby  No Public restrooms nearby  No Telephone nearby  No Picnic tables nearby

The cache is located at about 7600 ft. in the Pike National Forest. It is more than a 3 mile hike (round trip) via the Penrose Trail, which is part of the Captain Jacks Trail system. Various starting points and hikes are possible.
The trail in Sesame Canyon is officially closed to protect the Greenback Cutthroat Trout. Also, off trail travel in the Bear Creek drainage basin is no longer allowed. The cache is on a ridge that is the boundary of the basin. The cache is close to a social trail that is not always clear.

The Penrose Trailhead and parking lot for the Penrose Trail and the Captain Jacks multi-use trail system is along Gold Camp Road. This route has a number of other caches along the way and many view points. An alternate way is to park at the "Hub" (junction of Gold Camp Road, High Drive, and N. Cheyenne Canyon Rd.) and hike up High Drive to the Penrose Trail #665.

High Drive is no longer open to public, motorized vehicles.

P.S. The difficulty rating comes from the system. Some caches in this area that are rated around 2 to 2.5 are much easier than this one. In other words it might pay to think of this as a 3 or 3.5 and I might change it to 3 in the future.

this was our favorite cache of the day up to the top of mays. we decided to take a little detour and grab this guy and have our lunch in the sunshine. this gets a favorite point for the fun camo and beautiful location we would never have seen except for geocaching. thanks so much!!

Came up Captain Jack's trail, and didn't see any closure signs. Thanks for the creative hide - it's a good one!

As mentioned in previous logs, there are closures. We walked up High Drive from Bear Canyon and the Sesame Canyon trail remains closed by the City. Also, High Drive itself is closed at the first hairpin turn. Since there was no getting to the cache from this part of High Drive today, we continued up along Bear Creek and did some other caches. We'll have to find another way up to this one :) We look forward to it.

I came in from the north stopping at the first WP to Devil Dog then up the hill. After this cache I worked my way back to the north out Windy Ridge and back to the vehicle. A few small bits of camo have come off but it's in quite good shape for a cache that's almost 10 years old! Left a trackable.
