Letterbox hybrid where you are a pinball among pine trees. Parking can be found on the south side of Shoup Rd. near listed coords. Walking distance to final is less than 0.25 mile.

Note: A compass, or knowledge of waypoint projections on the GPSr may be helpful (but not necessary) in determining your "bounce" off various objects. All bearings are based on true North.

1. Begin: Pull the chain at the green gate to release, and roll down the faint trail [230°]. Your path will intersect the Section 16 Loop trail. At the intersection look for a mature tree with a scar at a height of 2' facing the trail.

2. Scar Tree: Your "bounce" here will take you to a pole with a (yellow) wire support line [305°]. Travel towards the pole, and go under the wire.

3. Pole: Standing under the pole-wire frame, you'll bounce across the Section 16 Loop trail towards a young tree in an open area [230°]. This young tree is the shortest tree across the trail, and splits at waist height forming a small Y.

4. Y Tree: Travel towards the largest diameter/tallest tree at the edge of the open area [212°]. There are 3 trees of similar (large) diameter in a straight line within 50' of each other here. Continue along the direction of these 3 trees to the "drain" - near the final (3rd) tree.

5. "Drain": The ball exits the playfield at this location, and you will find the final here.

Initial contents include: unactivated trackable for FTF. Pine tree stamp. Green ink pad. Pencil and log. Enjoy!

Beautiful evening for a run! What a fun idea for a letterbox! I got stumped at one of the stages, but the excellent clues eventually led me right to where I should have been. All is well here, thanks for placing this one.

Today was a great day for a caching adventurer. It was a good time to tackle the Planetary Pursuit challenge. Our main objective was the Black Forest Section 16 where we enjoyed a 5+ mile hike and were able to clear the area (with one exception where we didn't have the needed TOTT along). We gathered a few other caches on our way there and took the opportunity to snag a number of puzzles from the completed pile while we were in this neck of the woods. Thanks to all the COs for maintaining these caches making for a very enjoyable day. Had fun with this one. Very well thought out and it earns a FP from me. Glad my partner was along to keep me from making some bad assumptions lest I still be "bouncing" amount the pines! Nice hide. SL TFTC

I've been by this cache so many times in the last 4 or 5 years, but today I finally stopped for hike around the rest of the loop. I got to where I figured I was right... it took a little searching to find this hide. TFTC!
