One of the least-known, nicest views around.
Cache has been crushed and raided. Too risky to re-place. This is now a virtual cache. I have a placed 2 new caches in the area. Cheers, Jeff

In town to pick up a few caches.

Had a great hike up the trail with Liz and Bruce who are visiting us from Australia. This was my first time making it to the top of Pulpit Rock. I guess I can say I have recovered from my back surgery. Thanks to TBlazer13 for the virtual and I look forward to finding the other two caches. Favorite point allocated. Dugeagle

We are staying in Colorado Springs and went out with Dugeagle today to do some caching and this was one we targetted and found. A beautiful warm day with a cooling breeze once we got to the top. The hike to the top is not too strenuous and there were plenty of other people enjoying the beauty of the area. Lots of photos were taken which we will upload shortly. Fav point alloc. Greetings from Australia. Thanks to TBlazer13 for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

I picked up this cache to fill an empty spot on my Jasmar grid. Wow what a rock and views. We saw a rattle snake on the way back down. TFTC

Our family is on vacation in Colorado. I'm the only one in my family that is an early riser, so I'm up very early in a different time zone. This morning while my family slept in I braved the dark and cold and went out to do some hiking. I planned to get a cache or two as well.

I had visited a couple of local parks earlier, and now the dawn had come. (Well, it was cloudy, but still enough light to see.) The temperature had risen to the low 20s with some swirling light snow. It was windy and the wind chill was in the teens.

I had seen this VC earlier, and this morning I had enough time to make the hike up. I found a place to park near the car dealership. I was uncertain if I could make it from that direction in the cold, but decided I would back out if it got too cold or risky.

The trails were a little steep in a few places with ice/light snow, but nothing too bad. By the time I arrived at the base of the cliffs I had adequate shelter from the wind. With some exploring I found a suitable route up to the top.

At the top I arrived at the rock and took the required photo. I didn't stay long as it was very exposed up there in the cold. But I did stay long enough to enjoy the view and take a few more pictures.

Going down I had no issues and soon arrived back at my car. Many thanks for a great VC! Definitely worth the hike up and a highlight of our visit to Colorado Springs!

I had the great pleasure of caching with the one and only herndonrd today, which is always entertaining.

Today was no exception as we made a journey to the Springs in the hopes of finding virtuals, Jasmer caches, or anything else that tickled our fancy. When we noticed that this old virtual had an Earthcache next to it, we knew that we had to stop and check them out. The wind was blowing and chilling us as we made our way to the top, but we survived and even documented our survival in the attached picture. This area was very cool and I doubt I ever would have seen this if not for geocaching. Thanks for the fun virtual and for keeping it around for the rest of us to enjoy.

P. S. No animals (including humans or PayMeCache) were harmed in the writing of this log.

Out caching with FeartheFish and like usual driving his butt all over the place. Roadtrip to CS for some Jasmer caches, virtuals and earthcaches. This one fills a Jasmer square. Also got the nearby earthcache. TFTC!

Our Colorado vacation began in earnest today with most of the day spent in Colorado Springs, as well as a brief jaunt up to around 10,500 feet. Just a super day.

There was still enough daylight remaining for a visit to this area. Our main goal was simply to visit Pulpit Rock, but we detoured to a few caches along the way. Sunset is certainly a nice time to be here. TFTC!
