Temple Canyon Scenic Loop - Ecology Park

This is a simple two stage multi cache. The actual container is not at the posted coordinates, but you will have to go there to find the actual coordinates. At the posted coordinates you will find a small marker. The information you need is on the marker.

The cache can be found here:
N 38° 25.AB8' W 105° 15.5C9'

A: The second digit in the number of years of service.
B: The first digit in the number of years of service times 2.
C: If the last line on the marker is:
"Gone but not forgotten" then C = 3
"Rest in Peace" then C= 6
"His Legacy Lives On" then C = 9.

ALL CACHES IN THIS SERIES ARE IN RELATIVELY REMOTE AREAS. THERE IS LITTLE CHANCE OF COMING INTO CLOSE CONTACT WITH OTHER PEOPLE.

Temple Canyon Scenic Loop is a scenic 15 mile drive through Temple Canyon Park. All caches are along or near Temple Canyon Road (County Road 3). The road is mostly unpaved and can be rough depending on recent weather. Most passenger cars can navigate this road, but there are some rough spots. The road is mostly not plowed when it snows. Cell phone service is nonexistent along much of the route.

You will need to gather clues in caches along the way for coordinates to - TCSL: Temple Overlook in Temple Canyon Park. You can do this series from east to west or west to east without having to backtrack. Going east to west, in Caņon City take First Street south to Temple Canyon Road. Going west to east take County Road 3 south from Parkdale.

You could probably do this series in 2-3 hours, but it is designed to be done at a leisurely pace. Take your time and enjoy the many spectacular views. Pack a lunch. There are picnic tables and restrooms in Temple Canyon Park. Most of the caches require just a short walk on easy to moderate terrain, but some have steep drop offs, loose rocks and lots of cacti.

Saw this series publish last night so decided to get an early start and go down and do some caching. Not an early enough start for any FTFs but had a great time anyway.
Thanks Room1009 for the easy multi cache to start and really fun series overall. Favorite point awarded.

I couldn't believe the number of cars parked out here today. I arrived at about noon, figured out the final and just as I started out a car parked within sight of the cache, an old timer got out and fiddled around in the back of his van, then unfolded a chair and began reading his paper and eating his lunch!
I figured he'd be a while so I went off to get one or two on the back side of the gorge, but when I came back he was still there, but now nodded off in the front seat. Finally I just went for it. Found it signed the log, left nothing and took nothing, Great cache with lots of room for swag.

FTF at a little after 5:00. This series posted last night so I didn't get much sleep. I was anxious to get going. Olive was more than happy to go for a ride. Found what we we're looking for at the posted coordinates and made the short walk to find the nice container close by. Signed the FTF spot grabbed the clue and started heading West. Quick easy multi to start the day. [8d][8d] SL TFTC TNLN
