International Cooperation
Coopération Internationale

The cache is not at the listed coordinates. Please read below to determine the location of the cache. This cache requires going to a total of four locations.

The United States and France have been friends and allies since before the U.S. even existed. One of the high points of the relationship of the two nations was the gift from France to the U.S. of the statue Liberty Enlightening the World by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, commissioned on the occasion of the centennial of the United States, July 4, 1876 to be erected in New York Harbor.

Numerous replicas of this work at various scales are visible around the world. One replica stands in front of the Colorado Springs City Hall and is the starting point for this international journey.

To complete this cache, you will need to cooperate with a cacher in Paris (or go there yourself). A companion cache in Paris, Hommage à Bartholdi (GC38JJ6), requires the same cooperation. To complete both caches, the Colorado Springs cacher gathers 6 clues from 3 local landmarks. Email 3 of the clues to the Paris cacher, who will respond with 3 clues found in Paris. 3 clues from Colorado Springs and 3 from Paris are needed to determine the coordinates of the Colorado Springs final cache.

The Paris clues are all found at Bartholdi sculpture displays. Alas, Colorado Springs has nothing of Bartholdi's on display. However, we do have a number of unique sculptures and, of course, unparalleled natural beauty on our doorstep.

You will collect clues G, I, and K from Colorado Springs sites and your Paris-based partner will supply you clues H, J, and L. In return, you need to send clues B, D, and F that you find here to your friend in Paris. Please list the members of your team in your log.

10:06 AM My wife and I arrived in Colorado Springs late yesterday afternoon. The city was quiet on a Sunday afternoon of a holiday weekend. We made our way pretty quickly through the stages. We did, however, stop in the gift shop of the US Olympic Training Center. (Our niece and nephew are the beneficiaries.) I also especially liked the stage that reinforced the friendship between France and the US.

As we sat and enjoyed dinner at Bingo Burger, I verified the coordinates and sent the corresponding information to bern123 for the complementary cache in Paris.

The sun was setting, so we planned to hunt this cache today. After a great breakfast at Mountain Shadows, we headed to find this cache. The weather felt a little cold and blustery to the two native Dallasites, but we persevered. I managed to make the find and signed the log for bern123 and me.

I was happy to have the opportunity to cooperate with bern123 on this cache.

Thanks, ernie66 and allec, for the cache. I'm adding a favorite point.

I think a nap is next. With the dropping temperatures and the snow blowing in, it is the perfect afternoon to stay inside...
