You know that feeling when you’re working on a challenge and you need ONE MORE cache to qualify. And you’ve got it picked out. Have been thinking about it for months. And then you finally decide to get it. You approach GZ feeling little butterflies in your stomach. Will it be there? Will it be retrievable? What if I can’t find it? What if I get approached by a muggle? And then you do find it. And relief washes over you. You did it. You achieved something that (for me) literally took years to get.

Did the CO have any idea that their cache would produce these feelings? Doubtful. But that’s one of the beautiful things about Geocaching. You never know when the cache you place will be someone’s white whale or major achievement. Their first cache ever. Or their last. Each cache has a story to tell for someone who found it. This was my story. This gets a favorite for being a part of my story.

I’ve always wanted to do these caches along the trail. Today was the day! I decided to work remotely today and so during my lunch break I headed farther up the trail. This was the third of four in the afternoon.
