A cache on the east side of Hidden Mesa Open Space in Douglas County.
We were hiking at the east end of the park on a snowy fall day and noticed the extreme lack of caches on this side of the park. On the way to hiding this cache, we noticed lots of prairie dogs and the tracks in the snow between their burrows. We also saw rabbits, geese, and the tracks of coyote and deer. The most interesting thing, at least to our kids, was the hawk hovering in the air over the fields full of rodents. We decided to name the cache in honor of that hovering hawk.

Oh what luck to pull up the app on a whim during my hike and be .1 mile away in the middle of a cache drought! With no pen or pencil on me I crossed my fingers and hoped there would be one in the cache, thank goodness there was! Log is dry and all is well. Hawks were flying above, cache is aptly named. Thank you for placing, today's long overdue find was meant to be!!

No hovering hawks. Just a couple of hovering mountain bikers. Saw a rattle snake not far from the cache.
