Free range cattle range freely for food. If a rancher has land that livestock are not allowed, the rancher must put a fence around the property not to be grazed. It is the rancher responsible to maintain the fence to keep livestock out!
This cache is located in free range country! The openness of the range makes a beautiful view. This cache is located on County roads marked by CR and road designation. This cache is at the corner of CRVV, not W, and CR14. Livestock barriers are located on roads that divide between ranges. These barriers called livestock guards may be driven across as long as no gate is present. There are approximately 6 livestock guards to cross going to this cache from the south entrance. There are many more from the north entrance! There are no gates, if you find a closed gate, do not cross or open the gate, it is the wrong way! Go back the way you came!
Don't forget to sign the log, take something out of the cache and leave something new in the cache! Don't take the log book, please! Just sign and leave in cache.
The ranchers of this area have been here since before the dust bowl, back when the tv show Little House on the Prairie depicts! Look for the small school houses/ churches that still dot the country side. Look but don't touch, some are very fragile!
Stay on the cr road. Ranchers get angry when people drive across their pastures, and tear up the ground. Especially with livestock around. Be cautious around any livestock. Slowly drive past any livestock. They will move. Do not honk! Honking will bring them to you, and they are wild free range livestock. Do not attempt to pet any animals or take pictures with them, should any be encountered! Think of it as a trip through Yellowstone where wildlife is encountered. We are not responsible for any accidents!
Enjoy your journey through time!
