Scenic view  Medium hike (1km-10km)

Traditional ammo can with some great views. No crazy rocks to climb, just one mountain.
I like this spot because it give a good view of many of the places I have cached over the last few years. You can see Rosemont Reservoir, Cheyenne Mountain, Mt Rosa, Mt Baldy, Big Chief and many more. You can even see the Collegiate Peaks on a good day. So next time you are wandering around in the mountains, stop by and take in scenery. The only thing you won't see is a lamp post.

I have been slowly trying to pick up all the caches that can be accessed from Old Stage Rd. Since all the snow has melted and lower trails are getting crowded today was a perfect day to head up here. I didn't see another soul while I was hiking. It took a while for my GPS to settle down so I was all over the place at first. Finally it kept bringing me back to one area. The cache was right there but well covered so I didn't spot it at first. Now I just needed to figure out how to get over to Big Chief. TFTC

Dianne and I weren't too far from this so we stopped off and found this on our hike. Not an easy hide but it was fun due to the good coordinates. There's some snow on the ground higher up but it is no problem for the cache. TN LN TFTC!

Like to say it was a C&D but it anit so. Got a late start to do this but none the less. I got the 2wheeler out for a trail ride and headed that way. Never saw a sole the entire afternoon, kind a spooky. Got as close as I dare with the bike then stashed it in the woods and made the hike. What a view.....once I got there. Would like to have gone on over to Big Chief but the day was getting shorter so headed for the house, another day. TFTC SL

Estes01 had her eyes closed so I thought I had better accept when she offered to let me drive. My knuckles got whiter the farther down 370C we got. I kept expecting to hear the sickening crunch of skid plate vs. rock, but that Jeep has remarkable clearance and can sail over large rocks I wouldn't think of attempting in another vehicle. We decided to stop when we met a Jeep coming the other way whose driver reported that they couldn't get through a stream crossing just ahead and had to turn around. When I got over the shakes, we walked gently up to a nice, level trail and took that nearly all the way to the cache.

It wasn't a long search for Big Chief, but if you have trouble, look toward bearing 248 for the imposing rock pile Smile. We sat on the rocks and eyed Big Chief, trying to see the easiest way up. How hard can it be - it's only 1/4 mile away! Looking back at this cache from the top of Big Chief, we could see the impressive 1000-foot cliffs we were only a few feet from just a few minutes earlier Shock. Great location, thanks for putting another cache on this mountain. Left a coin.
