9:35 AM Today we left Steamboat Springs headed to Vernal, UT via the 3 Corners to pick up a few DeLorme grids and 3 Colorado counties.

When I saw this cache I knew I had to include it on my to-do list. What great views. We ended up hiking about a third of a mile up the trail.

I signed the log and left a geocoin looking for a desolate cache. Thanks, Paul and Shona Royle-Grimes, for the cache. This is my DeLorme 24 grid.

Found it -- not found often obviously! Steep hill must be the deterrent! Beautiful views! The ammo can is in great shape -- candles still melted! :-)

After two years of sitting -where it was sitting, I FOUND IT. Great cache. Whoever left all the candles, they've all melted together. I wonder if the car freshener is still good.....

TFTC-TNLN I get up here quite often haven't ever noticed that there was a cache here. Cache in good shape, and yes could be a very nice walk and view but I took the easy way up.

Well this one did not make me happy as we pulled off the road. I'm looking up at this mountain and thinking to myself, no way! Others said it was steep but this was crazy!! So off we go up the mountain, stopping every 10 or so steps to catch our breath. Finally as i make my way up over the crest, i cant believe my eyes......a ROAD!! Yes there is a road going right up to the top where the cache is located, we unknowing were on the other side of this mountain. We had no idea that if we had drove down the main county road a little bit further, we would have seen this road!! We laughed our butts off! So we send the youngest of us down the hill to drive the truck around the mountain to met us old folks, we took a couple of photos and were meandering down the road when i hear......"MOM!!!!!" from way down below. I looked at my honey and asked "Do you have the truck keys?" He reaches for his pocket and smiles. So we had to go down the way we went up, off the steep part!!! TFTC SL

What an awesome cache! We were able to drive our lifted new beetle part way up, but we did have to hike the very steep part, really glad we had our hiking poles! Cache is in good condition, took the starfish coin and left a baloon crew charm. The views were woth it, got some great pics! SL, TFTC!!
