Despite the humorous name and song I would like to highlight the seriousness of wildfires. We got our permit to cut our 2012 Christmas tree here, and after passing miles and miles of burnt trees and land to get here, we got to meet Smokey The Bear at the gate. Even if Smokey is not here on your visit, please take a look around this gorgeous area and be conscientious how easily the fires of 2011 and 2012 could happen again.

We also CITO'ed some trash from the area, but with views like those you get from the cache, there will certainly be more before you arrive.

Remember those days of  caches in beautiful places worth going to? You will find neither lamp post nor nano here! Be sure to bring a picnic lunch if you are so inclined; the views are well worth the sit'n'stay. Be careful of broken glass and skeets on the trail.

Camping is free here, year round, on a first come first served basis. If you do camp, please be aware of the fire dangers and follow the recommendations.

Cache is a cammoe'd peanut butter jar practically hidden in plain sight. Permit required for cutting trees or collecting firewood Congrats to JMKR for FTF bragging rights!

Went on a camping trip with my geolab had camped at this site over a decade ago so it was awesome that there was a cache so close to the site. The jar has a cracked lid and will likely need to be replaced at some point in the near future. TFTC!
