D5 T5 DIVERSITY CHALLENGE

For this challenge, you will need to find between five and fifteen geocaches. Of course this wouldn't be a challenge if there weren't more to it. To satisfy the requirements for this challenge you need to find 5 geocaches with a D5 and T5 rating in each of the following categories:

5 different states
5 different sizes
5 different cache types

For clarification: you need to find a D5T5 geocache in five different states. You also need to find a D5T5 geocache in 5 different sizes. Finally you will need to find a D5T5 geocache in at least 5 different geocache type categories. The geocaches can overlap and any cache type qualifies.

There is a big world out there and its full of exciting geocaches. This challenge requires you to go to at least five different states and go after caches of different types and sizes. Take the opportunity to broaden your horizons. Climb a mountain. Explore a cave. Jump into a kayak or out of a plane. Find your adventure.

D5 T5 Geocaches
What are D5 T5 geocaches? According to the rules of geocaching, a D5 geocache is "The most extreme mental challenge. Requires specialized knowledge, skills, tools, or significant effort to find, solve, or open."

A T5 geocache "Requires specialized equipment such as scuba gear, a boat, rock climbing gear, or similar." This challenge is concerned with finding geocaches that meet both of these rating criteria.

What is a challenge cache?
Ok, if you have a chance of qualifying for this one you already know what a challenge cache is but just in case...

A challenge cache requires seekers to find an associated physical cache, and to find an additional set of geocaches as defined by the challenge owner. Challenge caches encourage geocachers to set and achieve fun goals. Examples of challenge caches: find a cache every day of the calendar year, or find one for every Difficulty/Terrain combination.

Use the checker to see if you qualify. You can sign the log at any time but you must qualify in order to claim your find. Optional: Post a photo from one of your adventures or tell a quick story from your favorite D5T5 geocache find. Here are our qualifiers:

The Geocache
This is a simple geocache. It could be rated a 1 terrain however some could have trouble reaching under the north bench for the nano. The magnetic container is green similar to the bench to which it is attached.

Since this cache was the first on the list this morning and it's by the person who literally wrote the book on Challenge caches I decided this would be the first of the day.

Nope didn't find it. First challenge cache of the trip we DNF'd. I'm sure there is a maintenance chapter.

We signed the log for this cache back in August but only had 4 D5/T5 types at the time. We have now found a 5/5 Wherigo so now qualify.

Our Colorado vacation continued today with a drive from Estes Park to Ft Collins. Was able to spot this one pretty quickly before dropping a few bucks at the nearby jeans store. Log was full, so I replaced with a new sheet. TFTC!

Rock Chalk has used Project-GC to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.

Had this one on the list for a while! Had some trouble getting the last 5x5 Wherigo, but spent a day getting it done and then went and found the final container, the bummer was by the time I got the Wherigo done and signed this cache log I missed the CITO event that I signed up for.
