A family hike to the summit of Mt. Herman
If you are hitting other caches in the area I figured that a cache placed at the summit of Mt. Herman would be a nice ending to the hike.

This cache is best accessed from the Mt. Herman trail head located on the West slope of Mt. Herman, via Mt. Herman road.

This is a great family hike.  I would compare this hike to Mt. Cutler in overall terrain and difficulty for the most part.

This is now an ammo can - updated 12/23/2013

I don’t think the summit log is the cache. It’s too obvious, doesn’t indicate it’s a geocache at all, and it’s about 130 ft from GZ. Actual GZ looks like it has good cache hiding spots, but I couldn’t find anything. Oh well.

What a great day for caching. My daughter and I set a goal of 10 near Mt Herman and were not disappointed. This was our fourth of the day. Great cache and in great shape. TFTC and SL.

After several tries I finally found it

Happy Summer Solstice! This trail could use some TLC, as it is eroding badly in places.

Lookout for the Frontrange Alumroot among the boulders. It's an endemic saxifrage that only grows in this little corner of the planet.

Enjoyed a beautiful hike in the Front Range. Ran into fellow Colorado Mtn Club members on the summit. Cleaned out the cache of trash. It was nasty. Thanks!

Why a great day to play outside!

Found this one - but nowhere near GZ. I questioned whether it's actually the cache, but there is an appropriately titled logbook in the container, so I guess it's all good. Use the cache name as your hint and you'll be ok. TFTC!
