This Elf's name is Piper Winterfig and he especially likes learning and teaching about the world we explore!

Piper has some history, geological, animal and plant lessons for you.  As you're walking along the Santa Fe trail there are many plaques that share all sorts of great information.  Piper encourages you, while hiking or exploring new places, to take the time read about the world we live in!  No information for this multi is contained within the information so it's not necessary to stop and read them. At the posted coordinates you will find one such plaque where you can look for hidden coordinates to the final.

Each of these elves have been named by Button and Marauder Jude as well as their traits.  Hope you enjoy their lessons and fun hiding places!

You will need to bring your pen for this one!  A pencil will not do!  Sometime the lowly pen can be turned into a TOTT.  Examine the cache for something out of the ordinary and plot a course of action using your trusty pen TOTT!  You will need to press the door closed just a tad to disengage the locking mechanism activated by the TOTT, once you feel it, then open the door.  Inside you will find your gift and a clue to the final secret entrance to the North Pole.

I had read the logs about Piper being ornery to other cachers. I decided since I wasn't dealing with Riley the Honest that maybe a bribe would work. When I got to GZ I told Piper that if he cooperated I'd leave a Jeep TB. That must have done the trick since I got the box open without too much trouble. Only one more elf to go before the final! I planned ahead for this one, and decided to take my mountain bike that the elves made, and Santa brought for me several years ago. I haven't ridden it since shoulder surgery back in July so it was great to get out on a pretty flat, easy trail for a little over a mile from the designated parking spot to the north. I found the needed information at the trailside sign at the posted coordinates after waiting out a couple muggles, and then once at GZ, it took me several minutes to figure out how to open the container but managed to figure out that sneaky little elf trick! Kudos to the cache owner -- YES, you need a pen to get this one open !
Stamped the log, copied down the code and dropped a Christmas-themed trackable. Put everything back the way it should be and pedaled back to the parking spot. Then, off to #2 in the series.
GREAT work all around on this one -- TFTC !
