Takes less than an hour  Scenic view  Difficult climbing  Available at all times  Dangerous Animals  Cliff / falling rocks  Dangerous area  Parking available  Public restrooms nearby  Thorns  Seasonal Access

A bit of a climb provides an incredible view and a little shot of adrenaline.
This cache is at the Pinnacle Rock station of the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area off of US Hwy 50. If you plan to stay in the area you can pay for a BLM day pass at the sign, but you shouldn't need one just to grab this one and go.

BE CAREFUL, because it's a bit of a climb and if heights are not for you then neither is this cache.  If you're into it though, take a left as you turn in to the parking lot and get parked at the far end.  Then take a look up at that jagged, gnarly little point to the left and get hiking.  There are three approaches, one on either side and one closer to the middle.  The left one is not so recommended as there is a lot of cactus, the middle one is a pretty straight shot to the ledge you'll have to climb, but the right one is the coolest.  As you curve around the back of the rock you'll see a narrow chasm of dark rock and this will take you up to the point.

Cache is a camo'd peanut butter jar.

Please replace carefully using the rocks to weight it down so that it doesn't fall off the side, and do enjoy!

Congratulations to Sportslane for being FTF!

I stopped here on an impulse after hiking up Sunset City Gulch for all the caches up there. I fully expected to post a DNF on this. The climb up wasn’t nearly as difficult as I thought. Start on the east side and work your way around to the west side. I’m just glad I didn’t have to go to the top. I actually found it rather quickly. Thanks to LeewayeDiscGolf for replacing this one. This rock is much bigger than it looks like from the highway. This was a D/T that I didn’t have. Thanks!

Fun climb! Lemonheadmafia and I spent the day exploring. On our way home we decided to stop and attempt this cache. I'm glad we did! Once we got to the top the hint vectored us in quickly. Tftc!

Was here before but was by myself and was afraid to go to the top. Came this morning with a friend and found that I didn’t have to go to the top anyway. Tftc!

Quick stop and climb on sore legs after climbing Kit Carson Peak and Challenger Point earlier today. We were heading towards Canon City for the night.
Made it to the top and found the cache thanks to the hint after a short search. Thanks for the stars.

Greetings from the Chattanooga, Tennessee area.

After spending the day at the a Great Sand Dunes my wife and I were driving to Canon City. So many things to see along the way. Pinnacle Rock looked like a great stopping spot and it didn't disappoint. I carefully made the climb up and after a few minutes of searching I found it. I carefully climbed down and off we went.
