Great day to be outside. Came in from Queensgate cache west of here after following the trail down. That's the only real way now that access is closed on Glen Eyrie. You'll see the power of the Waldo Fire and the effects on the hike. It's not the same and never will be. It's sad. The trail is there but gets faint in spots. You'll see lots of scat and some fish in the creek maybe.
Cache is good for another few years before being found again. Thanks Ernie66 & Estes01 for checking on this one a while back (encourage you to read his note).

I had a short warmup hike this morning and the weather was nice for a long one.
This one has not been found for four years and a couple of weeks.
I started out hiking in 6 to 8 inches of old snow , it slowly tapered of to nothing at the Queens gate.
On the way out it rained a couple of times.
This is the kind of a hike that what goes down must come up.
Thanks for the exercise and a fun cache to find!

The area is open again following the Waldo Canyon Fire. I hiked down from Road 300P today with estes01 to check this cache. The area was not burned in the fire, but the attachment had broken and the container was on the ground nearby. We reattached it to the original spot. Ready for finders!

We finally found it staring at us the whole time. Well now the fun ends and the work begins. We are going back up on the ridgeline above Queens Canyon west of the scar to get some more caches. TFTC SL.

Really cool. KWBFOREST and I got this one #6 in our quest for pain today. We spent a lot of time looking in all the nooks and crannies, then had it staring us in the face. I added an image of our adventure. From here, it was only 1000 feet back up to the ridge line. Vort.
