The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates but they could be the starting point for your adventure. Don't worry, it's not in the rocks pictured above either. This is the Final in a series of caches in a new area to explore. No micros and no extreme terrain, just some interesting spots and great views at the final.
You must find the first six caches in this series, Road 318 Adventure #1 - #6 (GC2JEV2, GC2JEV5, GC2JEV8, GC2JEVA, GC2JEVD, GC2JEVG ) to collect the clues you need to find this cache. They are written inside the front cover of the logs. The cache is at North AB CD.EFG West HIJ KL.MNO

There are different ways to get to this area. See the first cache in the series, GC2JEV2, for helpful waypoints.

4WD Vehicle: We used estes01's jeep to drive road 318 and the ratings are based on that. The west end of road 318 is good but it rapidly becomes 4WD only.

Hiking: The area is also very accessible on foot from Mt. Herman road. It will just involve more time and effort. I would increase the terrain rating about a half star for this method. You can park on Mt. Herman road at trail 715. Follow trail 715 south and east and then follow the powerlines up to the road. The ratings also assume you access the cache from the road. If you decide to bushwack from one area to another it will be much more difficult.

BONUS: After you find the final go north and uphill some and then around the east side of the rocks. You can safely get to the rock outcropping where the picture was taken. The view overlooks South Beaver Creek.

Congrats to FTFs: kenyansherpa, OF-Erad, Team Redline, and Team 3BE~NG

What a fun series! I set out today to run FS318 and boy was it fun. I enjoyed the caches along the way and was glad to find this final. I walked in the final .5 miles to this cache and the views were excellent! Dirt bikes have been in the area but none today. Until I returned to my truck to find two 4 wheelers and 2 guys waiting to chat with me. Apparently, they had just spent 1.5 hours putting out a random fire down the road and had seen me and wondered if I did it (nope). I was thankful for their quick work! We finally decided that it might have been lightning. Yikes.

This one is in great shape! TFTC and for the series!

Really fun series! I waited til today to go to the final and it did not disappoint. Went to suggested pic store too but the smoke from the California fires obscured the view. Tftc. Gets favorites!

Wow what can I say but that was quite the adventure! I had to return to 4 to find my paper with the codes from 4 & 5 then stop again at 6 because I'd forgotten to get those codes. Plugged them in & boy it was hard to tell where I needed to go so I just headed towards my car and sure enough I thought I might be going the right way. I found what I thought might be a plausible route that was easy to follow & continued the countdown. Other than one false turn for a couple hundred yards due to no service I found the last 450' steep pitch to the final. The return back up really kicked my butt but I was soon back on 318 with daylight to spare. Happy St Paddy's day!

Having found the 6 clues a couple of weeks ago, I was eager to return for this one. Much to my surprise, I was able to ride my bike to within 450 feet of the cache. The trick is knowing where to leave Road 318. Thanks for this series; I enjoyed them all and this one is a fun accomplishment. I made the find at 11:54 am. I left a 1934 pentagon shaped date nail from the Santa Fe railroad.

By time I made it back to the car I was beat. I finally plugged the final coordinates into my GPS hoping that the final would be near the road. I was out of luck. Luckily I looked at the topo map and did not rely on my nuvi. I much preferred the hike down the ridge line as oppose to the shortest distance from the road. Thanks for hikes and the challenged!

I had a blast doing the series today. I didn't really want to go after this one as it was getting dark. But I did anyways. It was steep and snowy and probably not my best decision ever. The good news is, the new boots I decided to break in kept my feet warm and toasty all day. The bad news is I lost my camera going after this one. So if you find it, you can keep it if it still works. Finding it in the fading sunlight was not an option. I made the find and scampered on out of there.
Thanks for the series and all the effort to put them out. I had a great afternoon and the Jeep got to stretch its legs a little.
