This is number eight in a series of historical points within Douglas County Colorado.

This Geocache has two points to find.
The first point is the Indian Park School at the above coordinates.
The second is a cemetery near the school at: 39 22.848, 105 04.882

The Indian Park School was in operation from 1884 to 1974. It is still in use but for social gatherings of just about anything. Square-dancing, yoga classes, forest service meetings and flea markets, just to name a few.

On February 8, 1978 it was announced that the school was accepted into the national register.

To claim this geocache email:
1. The information from the building under the bell.
2. From the stone of Margaret Smith, her age.

Also, mention one item of information that you find interesting.
Photos are fine. JimReeb@ecentral.com

Thanks Geocaching Colorado for the Geocache of the Month Award, as the second series to win!

TFTC! Had the day off and decided to drive 67N to Sedalia from Woodland Park and then on down the 105 to the Springs. The goal this year is to reach 1,000 caches. Cache is in good shape, signed the log and thank you for the smiley face on the cache map. Answers emailed.

Now this was cool. Definitely a spot I wouldn't have known to put on my list of places to visit if it weren't for this cache...one of the main reasons I love these virtuals! My GF and I really enjoyed checking out the area and it's history. After exploring for a bit I wrote down the answers to the questions, took some pics and we were on our way. Message to the CO will be sent shorty shortly.

Thanks for bringing us here and for keeping this one going for all these years! Glad we took the time to hop off the expressway to head over to this one!

Came down this way from Denver on a hot, hot summer day. On our way to the final of one of your puzzle caches (more on that later). Thanks for bringing us to this spot and for sharing the history of Douglas County and Colorado with your fellow geocachers. Answers to follow!

Another interesting historical spot I would have never known about without caching. It’s always interesting to me that every little community has or had a place like this. Thank you for the virtual

I have driven by this one numerous times, and today was the day to finally stop and see what is here. Heh324 was kind enough to join me on this outing, and together we set off on our quest for the answers. As always with your virtual caches, we enjoyed the history lesson and learned more about our area. The fact that there was a traditional here too was a nice bonus. Heh324 sent in the answers for both of us. Thanks for the fun virtual and for keeping it around for the rest of us to enjoy.

fearthefish and I decided to head out 67 on a Sunday drive and to grab a couple of stray degrees I need for the 360 Challenge. This one was on the list. We both enjoy virtuals as time and time again we are brought to something very unique or interesting that we probably would have never learned about otherwise. TFTC

I picked this one up after a drive on Rampart range road. I have never been here before, so it was fun to make the find and see some new terrain. Loved the history lesson. Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache for everyone to find, TFTC.
