Veterans Day is always celebrated on November 11, no matter what day of the week it falls on.  That's because the major hostilities of World War I ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.  November 11 was originally celebrated as Armistice Day, but over the years expanded into Veterans Day.  The United States has several holidays dedicated to military service.  The main two are Veterans Day (celebrating the service of all US Military veterans) and Memorial Day (honoring those who died while in military service.)  If you served, please include in your log the years you served and what branch you served in.  This is optional and not a requirement for getting your smiley.

Needed a cache for the calendar day and this one was perfect. Love the “decoration” on this one. Very appropriate for the name of the cache and for the day it was published. Gets a favorite. Tftc.

Wasn't able to get this right after the event, had a few other priorities keeping me busy. The sun came out was a pleasant walk to these caches. Thanks for honoring the Veterans, lasouthpaw. Very nice cache. TFTH SL

We headed out after attending "The Veterans Day 2022 with the 77's Event" to clean-up some of the recently published caches in the area. Very nicely crafted container. I really enjoyed it. Very nice hide, SL,TFTC
