Welcome to this Winter Friendly Chemistry Cache!  

When you find this cache, it sets-in-motion a chemistry challenge for my middle schoolers. They will be given the ingredients of a well known packaged food one-by-one.  Students will discuss the molecules that go into their food, with a focus on the properties of covalent bonding, functional groups, and the octet rule.  In the end students will attempt to name the food product.  It's way too fun.

What does a party animal like me do on a Friday night? I call up my geocaching friends @2lablovers and @intrepiidexplorer and convince them to spend the night in Boulder, Colorado looking for hidden treasures. That's what I do! We wandered up here with a list of 28 caches. Most were on the west side of the city and a few were at NCAR. Started with an FTF and managed to grab a puzzle, a virtual, an earthcache, and many traditionals. We ended the the night with the virtual. By then it was around 10pm and time to migrate back toward Aurora. Five hours of caching fueled by Starbucks and McDonalds. La vida loca.
A DocPolley non-puzzle? Of course we are grabbing it! Snagged, stamped, and returned to it's lofty palace. TFTC!
