Found with Cache U. We've been working off and on to get this one for the past summer, and visited a lot of interesting and sobering locations. It was a pleasant drive to the final (except for the last 3 miles!) on a beautiful day. The aspens haven't quite turned yet, so we may be back out this way in a few weeks!
Thanks for a wonderful cache; it's almost sad that it's over now!

Found with Sam_I_AM. Wow, this was definitely the toughest virtual cache I've ever done! After several month of intermittent work on the various stages, and having to revisit a few (as Yogi Berra would say, it was like Deja Vu all over again!), we finally had the final coordinates in hand. We checked with the CO before heading out, because it is a tortuous drive to the final and not one we'd want to repeat soon, but the sturdy Highlander was up to the task. Who knew that was out there (besides the CO, of course)? It reminded me of my first cache that got me hooked on this hobby--a very interesting cache in the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico. But, 'nuf said. As always your caches are very challenging and very satisfying to complete. Thanks for all the work you put into this, and taking us to a spot we would have never known existed otherwise!

Whew, quite a few stages to this one, but I got there in the end, although I had to wait several months for the road to open. It's a little sporty, but nothing a Subaru can't handle; I wouldn't take a regular car on it though. Today was certainly a beautiful day for a drive like this one. I hope the picture isn't considered a spoiler.
It's been so long since I did the actual puzzle that I don't remember much about it, except that last part tripped me up. I needed a hint from the CO. The final is an interesting site, and definitely not one anyone would find without help. I read up on the story behind it. Very sad, but all too common.
Thanks for a great virtual. I really liked the final!

Yesterday morning I was doing some searching on-line for caches placed this month to keep my Jasmer grid up to date and as I was scrolling down through my search results I noticed something that caught my eye. I saw this virtual cache that was brand new! I was aware that Tahosa and Sons was one of the select few cachers to be granted the privilege of establishing a new virtual cache and I had been eagerly anticipating its release. The odd thing was that I hadn't received a notification of this new cache being published even though it was easily within my notification zone. So it was just by chance that I saw it the day it became available.
Upon reading the cache page I knew it was going to be one I had to get right on. A veterans based theme, released on Veteran's Day, and a 5/5 rating all indicated this had the makings of a very special caching adventure.
When I arrived at the park there were many people there partaking in the Veteran's Day festivities. I wandered around the park enjoying the monuments and collecting the information I needed there and then set off for the Doughboys. I had completed the related cache a number of years ago and things had definitely changed since I last visited the location. It took some time before I was able to find the required info to determine the location of Stage 3.
Stage 3 was a place I had visited in the past but getting the information needed to fill in the blanks took some time. A little bit of knowledge of history and weaponry definitely helped me locate the necessary information. Then it was off to Stage 4 which was another location I had been before. The coordinates for Stage 5 were quickly calculated and I jumped back in the vehicle headed there.
Once at Stage 5, just as with Stage 3, some of the info was easy to find but some was quite a challenge. But once I figured out where and what it was, I was able to decipher the coordinates for the sixth and ultimate stage. When I saw where I needed to go I was a little disappointed because I had a dinner to go to that evening and I had run out of time. The final would have to wait one more day.
Today I completed the final leg of this wonderful journey and received confirmation from T&S that I was the STF on this awesome virtual. Thanks to Groundspeak for allowing these new virtual caches to be published and thanks to Tahosa and Sons for creating this extremely well done virtual!!! This cache is a wonderful tribute to all of the men and women that have served in the armed forces, including those that made the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you all for defending our freedoms!!!!!

MEMORIES–DÉJÀ VU–MEMORIES–DÉJÀ VU–MEMORIES–DÉJÀ VU...flashbacks to my earlier days of geocaching when essentially all the stages in this awesome virtual cache sequence were visited by me in earlier quests for caches or as I explored possibilities for some of my Where Art Thou and Transform Yourself and other puzzle series.
I began geocaching in 2005 and soon tired of the sort-of-routine caches hidden in urban areas. Luckily, I soon discovered some “interesting”, challenging caches placed by Tahosa and Sons that whetted my appetite for caching and instantly kept me in the game and provided me with early themes to focus on and learn from. As I worked through Déjà vu, I discovered that three of its stages were affiliated with some of those interesting caches that “hooked” me; revisiting them brought back marvelous memories of those early cache-finding days. And I found that two of the stages were close to certain Tahosa events (including a mountain camping event) that I attended. Yes, déjà vu! So this virtual has TRUE meaning for me in several ways, as Tahosa will understand. It’s very well conceived and it brings seekers to a number of important Larimer County sites where our Veterans are honored and memorialized. And arranging for its publication on Veterans Day is just another fine complementation and special enhancement to the overall virtual cache. Yes, it’s all very well thought out, indeed.
It was a real pleasure to work my way through the various stages, gather the needed information, determine the locations of the sequential stages, and then to calculate/determine the location of the final. Gulp...quite a drive, but you know what? Déjà vu, I’d been there before! Some “redundant” miles, Joe? It’s also a real pleasure to record the {FTF} on this marvelous virtual. Thanks for all the effort you’ve given to make this a very, very meaningful one--and for me, one filled with MEMORIES, with DÉJÀ VU!
