This morning seemed like a good opportunity to make the drive for this one while the road was nice and dry. Blue sky was ahead of me on the way to the cache. But it didn't take long for dark clouds to begin moving in over the mountains. There was still sunshine to make the hike and enjoy the view before any April showers. Thanks for this challenge.

Hi - date is approximate since we had really sketchy internet service during our recent visit to the Colo Springs area & I'm late-logging.
I had two very nice days to visit down to Canyon City- interrupted by that mini-blizzard that rolled thru ! Found a lot of caches including some challenges, & a multi with a choice D/T combo for filling a space in an all-multi fizzy grid.
The Little S10 That Could managed to rumble up to within about 90 feet of this hide !

I am really beginning to question the local idea of terrain ratings. Just driving the county road to the turn off point needs decent ground clearance (it got much worse when the area became a city park as future finders may attest). I used the opportunity to take the jeep up the hill and 4WD was needed about half way up. All that whining aside, I enjoyed the jeep trail adventure plus the added joy of actually finding the cache container.

We were surprised that there was still a bit of snow around. We enjoyed driving on the Temple Canyon Road to the cache. Another area that we would have never gone without geocaching. Thanks for this series and the cache.

I had a very enjoyable 2 days of cache-finding in the Canon City area, focusing on certain challenge caches, the three Virtual caches I still needed as I work my way toward finding all of Colorado's still-active virtuals (I'm getting close!), and making some fun hikes for some back-country caches that were of specific interest. I satisfied all of my objectives on the trip, and look forward now to proving up my qualifications on the challenges and logging my finds.
I was delighted with the caliber of geocaches in the area--some creative hides, some very well-maintained caches, and many containers loaded with nice swag and TBs and geocoins, etc. It's rare these days to find such a concentration of well-cared for caches. I'm grateful for the experiences. Thank you!
One of my primary objectives for the trip was to find all 12 of the Month Challenge caches and to collect the information needed to locate the Year of the Cache Final. I did meet this objective, and had some nice hikes in order to find certain of the "month" hides. Completing the series was the highlight of my trip. Thank you for these great caches! My qualifications for this challenge are shown in the attached image.
