Was elk hunting, in this area. After moving through several hemlock thickets & aspen groves, I came upon this tree, and it is, without a doubt one of the most massive trees I have ever seen. Stopped for a rest here,  placed this Geocachce given to me by a friend, then moved on.  Just off the main road, parking is availabe at the roadside information board for the national forest which you are about to enter.

Across the main road, there is a dirt road perpindicular to that information board, this dirt road ends very soon, but will allow you to get closer to the cache, from there it will be a short hike.

Wow. This is a big tree. Lots like that in the Pacific northwest. I found the lashed marker on the ground at the base of the tree, but there was no container attached. I read through the logs and learned that a container was hung in a nearby tree. What kind a tree? How big? How far from GZ? All interesting questions without answers. I searched all the nearby trees. No luck. Finally I discovered the container on the ground, open with contents spilled. I returned the contents to the container and hung it in the subject tree close to my GZ. Hopefully it will stay there. Good luck to the next searcher.

Logging some finds from a recent trip. We looked and looked for this one, even found some more remains from the original cache. Then there it was right in front of us. Great hide. There are a couple of really big trees here. In addition to the tree near the cache there is a really big aspen just a few yards to the south. Thanks for the original hide and the replacement cache.

Wow! What a tough hike on an unmarked trail guessing where we needed to go. A great big tree and found the container open again and broken. We had anticipated it and brought another. Obtained which we tethered to a smaller tree nearby. Thanks for placing it and for the geofun!
