Please read the entire page carefully before setting out to hunt this cache. This is a "Challenge" cache. The cache container is at the posted coordinates but there is a challenge to complete before logging . Georges Auguste Escoffier (28 October 1846 – 12 February 1935) was a French chef, restaurateur and culinary writer who popularized and updated traditional French cooking methods. He is a legendary figure among chefs and gourmets, and was one of the most important leaders in the development of modern French cuisine. Escoffier published Le Guide Culinaire, which is still used as a major reference work, both in the form of a cookbook and a textbook on cooking. When I have trouble developing a new menu item it helps to turn to the roots of Escoffier. This cache will challenge you to discover the roots of caching in Colorado.

The wife and I (piker) are traveling with our son (NVgoldfish) south thru CO headed to Flagstaff, AZ. We are trying to find caches in each of the counties we traverse along with challenges and virtual caches. We were quite successful. This was one of the ones we found.

I'm travelling to attend Geowoodstock 2019 event in Texas with 3Teas and this was a pres-selected cache for us. To accomplish this we needed to physically visit your cache, and add our signatures to the logbook Thanks so much for adding a smiley to my map. Accurate coordinates which made for a pleasant experience. TFTH

Notre périple a débuté le 22 août dernier et nous amènera à visiter douze états Américains et deux provinces Canadiennes... Notre départ s'est fait à partir de Baie-Comeau, une ville sur la Côte Nord du Québec pour ensuite se poursuivre quelques jours à Québec où nous avons fait un peu de Géocaching.... Par la suite, nous avons fait un arrêt à St-Eustache et Ville de Laval, toujours au Québec, pour ensuite prendre l'avion et arriver à Portland, Oregon... Nous avons fait un arrêt le 28 août à Umatilla toujours en Oregon, le 29 août à Boise en Idaho, le 30 à Twin Falls et le 31 nous sommes à Salt Lake City pour deux jours... Le 2 septembre nous étions à Rock Springs, Wyoming, le 3 nous avons fait un arrêt à Laramie, Wyoming... Aujourd’hui ce sera notre deuxième et dernière journée dans la région de Colorado Spring...

Pendant tout le voyage nous avons ciblé quelques caches qui nous aideront à atteindre nos objectifs personnels et nous découvrirons certainement de nouveaux endroits que les Géocacheurs d'ici voudront nous faire découvrir... Nous préparons ce voyage depuis plusieurs mois et savons que nous ne pourrons pas tout voir par manque de temps... Il y a beaucoup de caches mais devons fermer les yeux ne pouvant toutes les trouver... Mais c'est avec plaisir que nous apposerons notre signature sur certaines d'entre-elles...

Merci pour la création de ces caches qui ajoutent des sourires à notre profil et qui nous font passer du bon temps peu importe l'humeur de Dame Nature... Our journey began last August 22 and will take us to visit twelve US states and two Canadian provinces ... Our departure was from Baie-Comeau, a city on the North Shore of Quebec and then continue for a few days in Quebec City where we did some Geocaching .... Then we stopped at St-Eustache and Ville de Laval, still in Quebec, and then flew to Portland, Oregon... We made stop in Umatilla on August 28 still in Oregon, August 29 in Boise, Idaho, August 30 in Twin Falls and August 31st we are in Salt Lake City for two days... The 2nd of september we were in Rock Springs. Wyoming and the september 3 the road brought us to Laramie, Wyoming... Today will be our second and final day in the Colorado Springs area

Throughout the trip we have targeted some caches that will help us achieve our personal goals and we will certainly discover new places that Geocachers here will want us to discover ... We have been planning this trip for several months and know we will not be able to not all see for lack of time ... There are many caches but we must close our eyes can not find them all ... But it is with pleasure that we will put our signature on some of them ...

Thank you for creating these caches that add smiles to our profile and make us have a good time regardless of the mood of Mother Nature ... On a trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado from Columbia, South Carolina to visit my daughter. Going thru Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, ending up in Colorado. GenoMac1 and I are out and about On this gorgeous day. Grabbing caches along the way focusing on new States, favorite point caches, webcams, virtuals, Challenge caches that I qualify or will Qualify for, and D/T's that I need. Awarding favorite points where deserved. Just adding some SMILEYS before the end of the year.

Always post DNF's, It allows the CO to at least know that people are looking for their cache.

Found the cache & SL on this one with EstesLynne and BMRbabe while in the area for Geowoodstock 14er, on 7/2/2016. I was close enough with my historic caches, that I knew I'd get it done, and we've just completed the Challenge with Paul Barclay Stash yesterday and Four Paws this afternoon. Thanks for the Challenge!

Finally finished this one today by tagging Four Paws. Bug Ranger and I came down to Colorado Springs for a couple of days specifically to finish up the Escoffier...and just have some good hikes and late-season caching. Here are my qualifiers:

Too bad about Stanleyish being archived, but I have it so I assume that counts as one of the ten. Bug Ranger and I were wondering what the next ones in line were, and we'll probably target them in the long run anyway. It's just too much fun going after the old ones; after all, back in the early days, all possible placement sites were open, so caches got put in really great favorite places that the COs liked.

Anyway, this feels like a huge accomplishment, and thanks for spurring us on to do it!
