The Old Kiln trailhead parking is located about 1/3-mile west of the Bangs Canyon Staging area junction on Little Park Road. See coordinates below.

Follow the trail approximately 1/4-mile, then follow the GPS east on the spur trail to the lime kiln. The cache is located outside of the sandstone block kiln, so there is no need to climb inside to find the cache.

Back in the day, lime kilns were used to heat limestone to make quicklime which had a variety of uses including making mortar and whitewash. They disappeared when modern transportation made it much more available.
