Dogs  Scenic view  Medium hike (1km-10km)

Located out in wilderness. Definitely come prepared for this intensive hike. Map and compass would be suggested. Recent snowfall will add to the difficulty of the terrain. Be sure to grab Desolation and Wreckage of the Past while you are out here.
I loved exploring this area while searching for geocaches so I decided to place my own. The find should be rather easy after the hike. I hiked from Blodgett Open Space parking lot, but I know there are several other options. Cache is sitting at just under 9000 feet.

Round-trip 5.72+ miles, 5 hours 48 minutes, 1,633 ft ascent

Out to Anniversary #4 from the Ormes Peak parking spot and back. Good hike, great weather, perfect day. I'm exhausted. Need a beer.  Grabbed this one on the way down to mountain. The container was wet inside so I drained it and did the best I could to quickly dry the inside while signed the log as well. Weather was scheduled for today so did not stick around much to give it a full dry effort, fortunately weather held off. Great great location. Definitely can see the aftermath of the Waldo Canyon fire which is interesting all the way along. Thanks for the geocache today.

Nothing but a dead forest along this ridge. At the top there was some aspens groves about head high, but now only ground cover and a forest of yucca. TFTC.

After being out of the country and away from any mountains for almost 2 months, I needed a hiking fix. This served the bill well as I came over from Blodgett Open Space (like the CO did) to get a few caches. Thanks to ColoradoBaron for this one! IN - Canadian Olympic pin from Rio OUT - nothing TFTH!!

SwimFin found this cache quickly and in good shape (once I got to the area). Left a signature dolphin key chain. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. Cheers, SwimFin!

Went for a hike to pick up a few back in here.

First time that I got back up this way after the fire.

Thanks for keeping it going!

The area is open again following the Waldo Canyon Fire. Unfortunately, the cache and log it was hidden behind are both completely gone. Estes01 and I found a baggie placed by bzgcfj and javachip. We took their log sheet and put it and some additional log space into a new tupperware container hidden very close to GZ. This is still one of our favorite areas - thanks for keeping this cache going!
