Native American Tribe Series.

Nespelem

The Nespelem people belong to one of twelve aboriginal Confederated Tribes of the Colville Indian Reservation in eastern Washington. They lived primarily near the banks of the Nespelem River, an Upper Columbia River tributary, in an area now known as Nespelem, Washington, located on the Colville Indian Reservation. Alternate spellings include Nespelim or Nespilim.

The Nespelem are considered Interior Salish, a designation that also includes the Okanagan, Sinixt, Wenatchi, Sanpoil, Spokan, Kalispel, Pend d'Oreilles, Coeur d'Alene, and Flathead peoples. Ross classifies Nespelem as one of the Okanagan tribes, while Winans classifies them as part of the Sanpoil.

In 1905, the United States Indian Office counted 41 Nespelim; in 1910, the census counted 46; in 1913, after a survey, the Office of Indian Affairs counted 43.

Found it! This might have to be my last one of the morning, as I can’t avoid my chores anymore. I would’ve never found this one without the hint, and it was quite buried in mud, so I readjusted and replaced camo. Thanks for all of your hides, Mondo, so that I could enjoy this beautiful spring morning!

On December 30th 2017 I came up here for an FTF. As I was leaving I thought I should drop a cache of my own and I named it 17 degrees of apology. That's how I remember the date and the temperature the day that I tried to find your cache. I'm happy to know that it was actually missing when I couldn't find it. It was a quick fine today. Thanks for replacing the container and keeping caching amazing in this neighborhood. Tftc!
