“What about Bob?” is in celebration of Bhobs 2500 cache find. We went up to the Sydney Harrison Memorial Cache and placed this cache. It’s not about the cache or the container but the hike in the woods. The trial starts at the Palmer Lake Reservoir Trailhead.

Be ready for a hike and don’t forget to check out Sydney Harrison Memorial.
“What about Bob? “ Is also a movie starting Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss.

A new patient appears at a psychotherapist's door. He has every possible insecurity in the world. The amazingly successful shrink gives him a copy of his new book and goes off on vacation. Bob, the patient, discovers where the doctor has gone and appears at the vacation site, forever changing the shrink's family relationships.

Bob Wiley is a neurotic and manipulative man who has a habit of clinging onto his therapists. His last one, not being able to deal with him, sends him to Leo Marvin. After having just one session, Bob thinks the world of Dr. Marvin. However, the doctor's leaving to spend the rest of the summer with his family, which throws Bob into utter despair. He calls the doctor constantly demanding to see him, but the doctor says he is on vacation and cuts Bob off. He manages to find out where he is and goes there. The doctor's family takes a liking to him but the doctor feels that he is just intrusive. And no matter what he does, Bob just won't go away, and everybody thinks that Leo is being mean.

There is no connection between our Bhob and the Character.

I have thought about looking for this one several time over the past couple of years, but always found other caches to find since I wasn't sure I wanted that long of a hike. Today I finally decided I would give it go. My 1st pre-hike thought was to bushwhack over to the cache in more or less a straight line once I crested the ridge at N39 08.020 W104 57.027. Once I arrived at the crest of the ridge I had second thoughts and decided to stay on the trail. Longer walk but much easier. Ice Cave Creek and Cook Creek both are running high with all of the recent rain. What once used to be an easy step over small creeks were no longer that easy. The rocks were still wet from last night's rain which made my crossing surprisingly difficult if the object was to keep you feet dry which was my desire. At the Cook Creek crossing the trail was under water for a good 15 ft across and it look to be about a ft deep at the deepest part. I looked for another crossing upstream and did manage to get across the stream. Once a GZ I circled the different sets for rocks looking for the container. I finally found it and it was once again full of water. I emptied the water and signed the surprisingly dry long. Animals have chewed through the lid which makes the container non-water tight. Thanks for the loooong hike!

Made the long walk to the Memorial site today from Palmer Park, and obviously needed to pick this up along the way. We had not previously been the far north in the area, so very cool to learn some new trails. Did not bring cache sheets with us, so did not realize how long its been since some one had been out here. We have rescued our fair share of caches, but never seen one with this much water before. Dried it out, replaced the log, duct taped cracks in the lid and moved 10 feet up the hill, also pulled the TB. The cache had been sitting in runoff, and something may have also been chewing on it. Wont last forever, but should hold at least until the next snow. Also dropped another TB in as a sign of that faith.

Headed out from the Palmer Lake TH with mtn_goat and spivey to log a few of these hides to the north. What About BUZZ is not going to be this easy ;)

thanks for the cache!

This one has been sitting on my list for too long, so we finally made the long trek from the Palmer Reservoir trailhead. Too bad we had so many more miles to go. Swapped trackables.

What about BUZZ, why he is the man...who knows maybe one of those might pop up around here... We had fun, so thanks for the extra cache along the way.

What about Bhob? 2500 finds 2.5 years ago – wow! Nice work Bhob, considering the cache density was so much lower then! I still haven’t hit the 2500 cache milestone, but I’m working on it. Thanks for a cache along the way this afternoon. I found this one while mountain biking from the Palmer Lake Reservoir to the Sydney Harrison Memorial. Dropped a coin, SL

Note: the note on waypoint CCYYME says “Take the trail that breaks to the RIGHT into the box canyon.” I tried this… but then quickly turned around. I think it should say “LEFT” for those approaching from the Palmer Reservoir. (No biggie, though, since it’s so close to the cache most people will figure out – I just tend to follow directions too much!)

The weather was crazy good. 7 hours round trip to the Sidney Harrison memorial. My feet and back hurt, but it was worth it.

Found on the way back from Sydney Harrison. The container lid has some varmit chews - but everything is still dry. Thanks for a more smiley while out bagging Sydney Harrison. GreasePot, Garlic and Daisy-dawg. P
arked at the Palmer Lake Trailhead. Had a fantastic hike. 13.8 miles and 3800 feet elevation gain (including a few caches on side trails on the way back). GreasePot, Garlic and Daisy-dawg. I think this is the longest hike that Daisy-dawg has been on. TFTC

Whew. I went back to Palmer Lake to get some caches cleaned out in the area. Fried Okra went along for the ride, but decided not to take the extra 3 miles it would require for this one. Very cool spot and amazing trail. I will send Buzz coordinates for one more trail intersection. I have looked at this for a long time, but always thought it required a lot of bushwacking ... not sure why I had that impression. Wrong. There are great trails all the way. Cache is dry and secure with some critter nibbling on the edges. Vort.
