This is the second of my new series to give thanks to those Geocachers that
influence me to go outside and discover new places and challenges.

Thanks for all you do for Geocaching. Your hides make me want to go out and discover the history of the area in which I live. My favorites are your Douglas County Virtuals. But lets not forget your Mystery caches like “To Catch a Thief” and the “Dork” series.
Jim Reeb has over 10,000 finds and over 70 owned caches.
He joined GeoCaching in July of 2001. That was back when all this was starting.
This cache is dedicated to Jim Reeb
and is located near a Historic Point of Interest – The Arapahoe Canal.
Construction of the canal was started and completed in 1890. Its purpose was to be an overflow canal for the Castlewood Canyon Dam. In August of 1933 the dam collapsed. A 30-foot wall of water rushed out of the canyon destroying property and livestock. The devastation continued through Parker into Denver. Today traces of the canal are visible along Cherry Creek and through Parker.
