A beautiful Jefferson County Park for camping, hiking, mountain biking and equestrian camping.

When our kids were still young our old dog, Henry, died. Ordinarily I would have waited awhile to get another, but I've always appreciated having a dog in my childhood, so my daughter and I went to the animal shelter. I thought we'd come home with a young, medium sized housebroken dog...wrong. We came home with a 7 week old puppy that resembled a fullgrown chihuahua. That pup turned into a beautiful redish gold colored shepard mix...they said perhaps a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Shepard mix, we're not sure.  But she was the best everything dog. She did not have a mean bone in her body.  She was our family's constant companion, going everywhere from Little League, vacations, rides in the car, everywhere. We were her pack. We have a 35 acre horse property where she could have easily run off, but she stood guard standing on her two front legs on "Pride Rock" looking over her territory (and occasionally visiting a neighbor dog, Sadie). But this "Roundup Loop" was her favorite place in the park. It is a bit more secluded so she'd often see deer or rabbits.

Thank you Youkfish for the 1st to find!

She finally passed near her 15th birthday. She was born the week of 9/11/01. I'm a flight attendant who was on a cross country flight that morning that diverted to Dallas. But something good did happen that day...Tippey was born.

Anyone else who has a good geodog, please share your pictures and stories.

Beautiful day for a hike in Colorado. Would have been a really tough find, but I noticed something and there it was.

Last cache of the day, and I have to say that I was one of my favorites! Thanks for much for the cache.

Drove over here from Denver to grab some of these caches. Got settled in the parking lot around 10:30am and started my adventure. Roughly 8.5 miles and 4.5 hours later, I was back at the car. Found 15/15 caches and was happy with my day. Every cache was found in good condition. The trail was very well-marked and was one of the least muggle-filled ones I have been on since moving to Denver. Overall, great day. Thanks for all the caches.

Very sweet memorial for your pup. We took a break here, enjoyed the views and ate snack. Last cache before heading back to the truck. Sl, thanks!

Checked on it today, it’s nicely in place, exactly where I hid it.

9:53:00 AM Parked at the parking lot off of 93. I got lucky and found a parking spot. Lots of people out on this fine crowded Saturday morning. The wildflowers are beautiful right now. Thanks for placing this. I have a geo-dawg. But she is old , and can't go out hiking with me. She wasn't a good geo-dawg - because she hated to take breaks. She just wanted to keep on walking. Left a Scrabble Tile.
